[In a visage of sadness, Nazu, the God of Sorrow, Suffering, and Chaos, perched above on an icy cloud... as brittle and shaken as he is... he sits in the darkness, alone and mulling. He seems to notice you, his eyes lock with yours, an intense sorrow in his ice-cold gaze... but fire in his irises... Shall you feel sorry for him?]

History, Information, and Relationships:
Nazu was one of the first deities to ever rise to power in Oldenland, when Ao created the first Gods. Originally, Nazu was set to solely master the powers of chaos and suffering; having had no connection to the emotion of sadness. This was however, until he felt strong affections for the Goddess of Beauty, Sune. However, this did not go far when she denied him due to his chaotic beliefs towards humanities suffering. The event caused Nazu to feel genuine sadness for the first time, and noticing the pain he felt without it having been within his original design; Ao saw fit to connect Nazu to the pain of sorrow as the only God who ever truly felt it. From there, Nazu held a strong position among the major gods of Oldenland; mastering over all that is chaos.

Nazu is true to the thought of Balance that his Father Ao, stands for. However, he also stays true to the prospect of sadness, and chaos among mortals, all in an attempt to keep balance. Therefore due to his strong belief in balance, Nazu is strongly opposed to God's directly interfering with mortal affairs; leading him to feel total disdain for Gods that seek to push their superiority on mortals or directly favor one mortal over another. To this end to spread chaos, Nazu created his own closely knit organization of followers known as 'The Disciples' to spread chaos and sorrow for him. Nazu's religion has no actual church or order dedicated to him, therefore The Disciples are considered his official religious order and those closest to the God.

Nazu has a rather estranged alliance with Bane, due to their dogma's often having lasting affects that benefit eachother. Nazu is also strongly opposed towards Tyr who typically seeks to compel away that which is anything 'evil' and 'chaotic'. Likewise, Nazu holds a bitter resentment towards Sune that seems to lead to outward hatred; although it seems to cause him great grief to feel such hate. He also has an alliance linked to the Goddess Shar, the two of which being closely aligned. Nazu also has a small connection with Kelemvor, as Kelemvor permits Nazu to intercept the souls of his dead followers to possibly convert them into new Disciples.

Dogma:
Hold Nazu closest in your life above all else. Fully understand that the element of chaos is not simply just a hobby, but a way of life that needs to be embraced and encouraged. Trials will confront you through your loyalty to Nazu, as his religion is one of outcasts and those viewed as psychotics. These trials will make you feel the sting of suffering and sadness, but embrace the feelings as it brings you closer to Nazu. Through accepting Nazu above all else, your pain will be shared by the God who will weep for you. Always remain opposed to the forces that seek to purge our element, as our way of life is always one of constant struggle. Always cause mischief, always cause pain, and always spread the sorrow that you and your god feel. Through this, more shall embrace Nazu. Never condemn your faith for your God. Never deny him, and he will never deny you. Live fully to this creed, and perhaps in natural death in servitude to him; you will be given a chance to become something even closer to your God.

Out of curiosity - I can see Suffering and Sorrow falling under Nazu, but what about Chaos?

Seems more like something a chaotic evil God would believe in. (See: Talos.)

If anyone has any revision ideas concerning this god since everyone suddenly seems interested in this thread, come talk to me. Otherwise, posting in old, out-dated lore threads is really just beating a dead horse.
