Full Name: Maria Nightdale Nickname: N/A Race: Human Gender: Female. Birthplace: Somewhere along the sword coast. Faction association:
The Concordic Knights
--- The Chromatics
Rank/position: Senior Knight Sister.
Skill(s):
Defensive silver fire
{ | | | | | | | | | | }
Maria is an experienced knight of the Concord, and as thus knows how to use silver fire to great effect. Having chosen the defensive side of the Gods-given gift, she has the ability to cleanse objects, as well as shield herself from magic and dark auras. She is also capable of protecting herself very slightly from physical damage.
Healing magic
{ | | | | | | | | | | } (Full knowledge of this denotes she knows all she can know about those spells she has access to, as seen below)
The practice of using holy magic to mend wounds and clear ailments is not widely seen in these days, and Maria takes great pride in her knowledge of this particular usage of the holy school. Below is a list of spells Maria can access.
Bodily Soothing
Uses holy magic to numb the sensory nerves that register pain and feeling, thusly eliminating any feeling in a person or creature. This causes them to become completely numb for a duration of up to 10 minutes.
Vanishing Darkness
Holy magic sears from Maria's hand in the form of pure light, immediately cancelling out any dark energy it touches. Can be used to dispell dark magic spells and remove other dark energy.
Bane of Poison
With the help of holy magic, Maria can force poison directly out of the body. This is unfortunately a very unpleasant process for the one being cured, as they will feel a slight throbbing headache and the poison will exit the body through emesis. (They'll throw up) She has to be in contact with the subject's forehead for 6 seconds before this spell has any effect. Affects natural (read: non-magical) poisons only. Any ill effects gained from drinking potions can not be cured.
Touch of the Concord
Using holy energies coursing through her hand, Maria has the ability to heal moderate and harsh wounds by speeding up cell-reproduction severely. Wounds can only be sealed if she is in contact with the individual until the healing process is done. She must also know where the wound is and how large it is. The time she needs to be in contact is decided by the size and severity of the wound. Can only be used on individuals without any kind of unholy affinity. Will burn unholy beings, making the creature or individual feel tremendous pain. But little permanent damage is done other than scarring from the non-lethal second-degree burns it would cause.
Holy Reading
Uses holy energy to read where the subject is wounded, and how severely. Very useful for hidden wounds when Touch of the Concord is necessary.
Gift of Ilmater
Maria has been directly blessed by her deity, the God of Martyrdom. With this ability, she can heal any wounds on a person instantly, at the cost of taking them all upon herself.
Spear combat
{ | | | | | | | | | | }
From the day she picked up a weapon, Maria has always been a woman of the spear. She knows very well how to handle it and can without a doubt hold her own in a fight using one.
Biography: Maria was a simple girl as a child. Being the middle child with one brother and two sisters, she was fairly calm and well taken care of. She didn't ask for much, and lived content with what she had. This was much due to the monastery of clerics that her father ran in honour of Ilmater. This particular clergy trained its clerics in the usage of holy magic for healing, rather than smiting. They regularly took in the poor and homeless, offering them shelter and food. Company and healing. They were a truly good order of clerics and monks, and Maria learned early on about the virtues of good and sacrifice. She learned that it was a great thing to help people in need. She learned about the injustice and cruelty of the world, and how all people were equal no matter what anybody said. These virtues drove her throughout her entire life, and as soon as she could walk and talk she was helping the homeless, bringing them water, food, entertaining them by listening to interesting tales about the older people's youth, and even a few fairy tales. She grew up as a living saint, helping the poor and clerics any way she could. She immediatly assumed training within the holy field of healing magic as soon as she was able to. She trained directly under her father, who was a great teacher indeed. She had a natural talent for the act of healing, and was a very good healer by the age of 21. By then she had already stopped training and joined the other clerics with attending the wounded and poor. She was a brilliant young girl, and reflected her father's dedication to the great cause in many ways. For instance, the clerics once spoke about a night where she, several miles out in the woods for a calming walk, she came upon a wounded man who had tripped and stabbed himself on his sword out of pure clumisness. She is said to have stabilized his wounds without any spell and then carry the man all the way back to the clergy with great determination. But as you know, rumors can be misleading. Regardless of the idle rumor spreading most commoners result to, she was a great cleric. And the clergyhood did a great service to the poor. She left the clergyhood at the age of 23 on a holy pilgrimage to an old forgotten altar dedicated to Ilmater. When she returned, six months later. She found the clergyhood completely abandoned. Not a single body was found, but the buildings had been razed and there were signs of combat at numerous locations around the clergy grounds. She tried not to find her brothers and sisters. Somewhere deep down she knew they would be okay, either in this life or the next. And she set off for the nearest city. There she learned about a large order of paladins and clerics who dedicated themselves to serving justice, and she decided to join. It later turned out that this order had been corrupted from the inside out, and as she found out that a new order had been founded to undo the wrongs that the corrupted order had created, she quickly set out to join them as well. By this time she was 27, and she was already well-versed in the usage of the war spear. She had even obtained her very own with a specially crafted shaft out of iron, as well as a tip made out of steel. She has now served the Concord for many years, and with the recent death of her Brother-in-Arms Dale Pomudao, she has been summoned by the Knight Premiere to take his place in Surna.

This is easily acceptable - the Concordic Knights are in Surna, following Faeru. Mack would just be taking the place of one of the many of the faceless IC Knights that would accompany Faeru and are already here ICly.
Also,

I'd have just patented fondling. No one is allowed to fondle anyone else without first paying me a small fee.
Yes, I did it because I know EXACTLY what you're all accepting Maria for.

I'm just curious about her poison ability, because it's possible for Will to make potions that are absorbed through the skin (though, admittedly, he's only made poison twice, which was calamity in both cases). Would she still be able to force them out through some insane magic?

most likely, yeah. as long as it's a natural poison. such as two plants mixed together who have no magical properties. or a poison extracted from a venomous creature.
but if it's magic, you're all good to poison the entire town and she won't be able to do fuck all.

If it's natural, she can cure it.
No need here for the silly games.

well seeing as the spell itself like moves all the poison to the stomach of the individual and then makes them throw it up, i'd imagine the tiny fragments of metal would basically tear their body to shreds on the inside.
