I've never encountered this. Shame on them for fooling me once. However, managed to recover my account and change the PW lightning speed after I realized what had just happened, which was a minute or two after.

Oh well, it seems that there was only superficial damage done.

interesting...it seems like scammers are trying some sort of "virus" tactic. you would actually expect them to want more control over the accounts they have rather than more accounts with less control.
