The Server

Could we please change the script running on it? Personally, the Tiramisu script is kind of laggy, and it really fucks up anything I do in shift-tab.
I think it was alot nicer when we were using that slightly edited version of CAKESCRIPT, where we could have two really long titles, could see peoples names through walls (so you could know where rp opportunities are), and when it had it so you could pick the race of your character. The part when it tells you when someone is typing was nice and helpful, too, since you didn't have to stare at their model for twenty-seconds while you wait for their info to slowly fade in over their head.

Tiramisu is also really awkward for our plain-and-simple RP setup. We don't really need the inventory as everything is done ICly over text. And the stupidly-fancy character creation / selection menu is dumb and doesn't do anything for us, especially considering it says something like 'Welcome to City 17 ; It's safer here.' after it slowly scrolls down from the top of the screen.

Just thought I'd intrude. I can patch most of the bugs in Oldens cakescript (Such as the duping items bug) but Kain added a bunch that I can't fix.

Well, it is true that kain's script served us better than anything we used after. I'd like to use it, or even just cakescript, since it is very true that we really don't need all that much.

One thing I would like, though, is a money system. We don't need paychecks or buying doors or any such thing, just a simple way to give and receive money that can be tracked. e.g, the 500 gold you received for the quest for marius' left nipple is not some nebulous 500 gold you keep in your head, but a 500 gold that can be used to buy things and someone can't asspull. Everyone I've talked to agrees with this.

I support this notion.

My version of Cake which is built of several modded copies (including oldens) has a working money system.

While it no longer has the armour system you guys once had for customising your models (Kain commented it out for our script, and with the repository locked I can't retrieve it) it's pretty well rounded.

I'm still working on it, and it's progressing reasonably well.

Looks great, though we still need a server to run it on.

A hamachi server is free.

Could work, though I admit I've no idea how many people can fit on a single hamachi server before it goes to shit.

Servers are not so expensive. I can perhaps get you guys one if you'll actually be active on it

Well I don't know if I can speak for everyone but I know I'm fucking pumped up to start rping again, it's been way too long and since I last roleplayed I've seen a whole bunch of changes to how I look at the roleplay world in general. I'll stop myself short of a rant and just leave it at I -REALLY- want to see this new age of Olden start up so we can get down to roleplaying.

Of course working full time is always a bitch but that's what days off are for.
