"Originally, we set out to learn what we could about Surge-born and their extraordinary powers, but when we learned of their link with the ancient, legendary Vindicators and The First, we knew this was more important than publishing just a book on magical theory." - Solomon Canders
The Archaeologists of Surge were a trio of scholars from Sarkun that published notes and papers on magic and modern society in Aeria, when they begun work on Surge, and how those born with it fit in to society. When pursuing an old friend they knew to be the ancestor of a powerful user of Surge, they found him dead in his home, along with the bodies of three assassins whom the trio believed their friend killed in a struggle. Upon closer inspection, the three assassins wore what the trio later discovered to be were To'Mire masks, ancient artifacts that possess unique magical powers. Astonished to find such treasures among their late friend's murderers, and that their friend was the last living person born with Surge in the region, the three grew suspicious of a conspiracy regarding Surge and people born with it, and decided to set out and uncover all they could learn about the history of Surge.
After months of research and travel, the trio had grown accustomed to the use of the To'Mire masks. Fearing they would share the same fate as their last lead on Surge, they chose to wear the masks at all times, and speak little of their research to outsiders. Paranoia aside, the three were able to uncover evidence of Surge tracing back to the Vindicators, an ancient league of justice first founded by the fabled Marius Shire. Intruiged, the three grew dead-set on learning more about the Vindicators origins and how Surge came to be.
Arya Menemen - Deceased
Height: 5'9" Hair: Brown Eyes: Blue Distinguishing Features: Arya's hair is often kept in a bun, and she always wears purple nobles' clothes.
Being scholars that lead sheltered childhoods, the three generally have a hard time expressing themselves to others, whom they often refer to as "outsiders". Solomon, however, has always had a natural talent for diplomacy and persuasion, and often acts as a face for the group. Although empathetic, Arya is often polite and professional, and usually handles the interactions with outsiders.
Alya possesses a white To'Mire mask with gilded gold lines and a regal horn resembling a mythical unicorn. The mask grants the power of mental projection; Can generate elusive entities of emotions or structures from the mind. Usually memories of real people, or entire worlds meant to confuse victims Mental Projection can feel like amazingly real events. The mask is very limited in its powers, however, as Alya is only able to project one thought/memory at a time, which are bound to minimal intelligence and require her concentration.
Leroy Kross
Height: 5'6" Hair: Messy and black Eyes: Green Distinguishing Features: Leroy sports a short travel cloak and hood, and long gloves which he seldom removes. Most of his clothes appear cheap, and easily replaced. Sometimes Leroy is crouched or hunched over an object of interest, appearing even smaller than he already is.
Although the youngest, Leroy possesses the most inquisitive mind of the group, with a natural talent for detective work. Being considerably curious and less squeamish than the other two, Leroy has a an affinity for a wide range of obscure talents, including the inspection of corpses and determining of a cause of death. Although being just as studious as the other two, Leroy is considerably more naive, but also more trusting than the other two.
Leroy wears a long white To'Mire mask resembling a beak. The mask also is attached to a black cloth that covers the entire head. The mask grants the power of bird mimicry; the mutative power in which one takes on bird-like physiology and behavior. This includes shape-shifting into a crow, converting one's hands into talons and avian sight. Although already somewhat of a shut-in, the mask leaves Leroy with difficulties when communicating with outsiders.
Solomon Canders - Deceased
Height: 5'11" Hair: - Eyes: - Distinguishing Features: Standing considerably taller than the other two, Solomon's red mask (and attached cloak) cover his entire person, save his boots, which are iron-plated and black, with two belt-like straps for each foot.
Perhaps the most antisocial of the group, Solomon is by far the most ambitious of the group to uncover Marius' past, and while all three are well-read scholars, Solomon seems to have by far the greatest intelligence of the three. With a taste for theatrics and intrigue, Solomon is the leader of the Scholarly Three.
Solomon possesses a unique, red To'Mire mask which covers the entire head, with round sapphire-blue eyes and an attached red cloak and collar. The mask grants the wearer psychic powers, employing Solomon's strong force of will. Power increasing the closer Solomon is to a target, he can make a person feel pain by mental suggestion, lift objects with telekinesis and communicate telepathically.
In general, the Scholarly Three are a secretive group, trusting few and sharing notes with even fewer. As they actively seek knowledge over other goals, the trio's actions range from Lawful Neutral to Chaotic Neutral, for now.

Made much much more pretty. Also this might fit better in special characters.
