Birthplace: Imperia

Biography: House Helveticus has remained one of the most notable powers in Talibar for centuries, where some say that it is second in power only to the royalty. It is a house with a glorious history, whose members have been among the most renowned individuals in the Empire. Almost four decades ago, the greatest yet was born.

Uriel Helveticus, the son of Marn and Vekal Helveticus, was brought into a family far from poverty. As an infant, he played with gold-plated toys in a bedroom larger than the homes of most middle-class families. As a boy, he played soldier in the court of his father, an exquisite chamber used by many great politicians. Uriel was different from many other boys of the nobility. He did not wish to become a simple politician, a man sitting behind a desk until the deathbed approached. Uriel wanted to serve the Empire in the most glorious fashion, and at the age of thirteen, he was allowed to be sent to Imperia's Dominatus, the most prestigious military academy in Talibar.

The first years of training were harsh, but they worked their magic. Uriel was turned into a hardened man, mastering his body and mind through strict regimes of physical and mental exercises. He learned how to fight, and he excelled. He learned how to lead, and he was at the top of his class. At the age of eighteen, he was sent into the Imperial Legion as an officer, creating a spear of jealousy in the men that he was to lead. He was known as a prodigy, and after the victories began to flow in, along with stories of Uriel's own skill and heroism, the barriers that had existed between him and his men soon vanished, and his fame grew.

Uriel shot through the ranks of the Legion like a fireball, gracing the men he commanded and answered to with his open personality, earning him many friends and allies. A decade passed, and Uriel had become the greatest military commander the Empire had ever seen. He possessed the uncanny ability to predict the actions of enemies, and he was identified by the Inquisition as a psychic, and soon he was seen by some as a religious figure, a savior, but it was a movement that was quickly put down. He befriended leaders from many races, including elven princes and the High King of the Dwarfs himself. Another decade passed, and Uriel became a symbol of the Empire, a masterful statesman and honorable warrior. His triumphs brought a great peace to the Empire and the lands it held, a much-needed time for rest to its armies. However, it was relatively short lived as tensions with one neighbor in particular grew.

The Occitanian Empire had grown considerably. It now possessed armies backed by a single-minded industrial might, a government led by strict yet effective leaders, and a population of devoted citizens. To them, Talibar had controlled the majority of the known world for far too long. For several years, the Occitanian Empire had mobilized, but only recently have they shown hostile intent. With traces of Occitanian warbands near Imperia, and most strongly, Surna, Uriel, now a Lord Commander, one of the most influential individuals in the Empire, prepares for the inevitable. Hand-picking an honor guard and preparing a small army of his own, leaving a much larger force in reserve, Uriel leaves Imperia for Surna, intent on using either his skills of diplomacy or his strategic genius to win the war that will most likely come.
