Chapter Two:
The Veiled Prophet
Dusk settles upon Surna, the last darkness hiding the rubble, the destruction. But it cannot hide it's tired people, worn after endless abuse, self righteous crimes. As the people settle down to sleep, they know they have much ahead of them..
Within the Imperial City, the Imperial Army mobilizes quickly, and moves to surround the Palace. There is little resistance, most guards surrendering. The Army moves in, and at Blade-point, arrests the either corrupted or foolish Council members who turned a blind eye to the atrocities..
Deep within a windswept desert, the dark closes in on immense craters of glass, the ruins of a diamond gate, already being covered by the sands. Inside the wounded pyramid, all that remains of the atrocity held within is a cross, stained with blood, and a drained corpse..
And high atop a hill overlooking the whole of Surna, as dusk closes in, a hooded figure stands. It sighs, feeling sorrow for crimes unmendable...
