Overview

The Talibarian Guard is an organization based on protecting Talibar and its contained cities (including Imperia, Surna and many other cities/towns) from enemies all across Oldenland. The threats are near constant, and it requires skillful warriors to defend important trade centers, towns, villages, and military outposts which are dotted in Talibar. They never leave the continent. They contain people of ALL professions including spellcasters, swordsmen, marksmen and several others. Their job is to protect the towns in Talibar, and enforce the laws of the people.

Uniform and Ranking

The Guard wears half-plate armor by default. Although, some soldiers choose to wear Chainmail, or armor of their own, but every soldier in the Guard has the emblem on their shoulder-plate. It's customary for them to wear helmets, and swords in scabbards upon their belts, but they often can use their own weapons also. None of the members are constricted to uniforms, or supplied and forced to use certain types of weapons.

The ranks go as follows:

Quote :
Commander
The Captain, leading the guard, manages the soldiers and officers as a whole. He or She may direct the below ranks as they please, and hold the highest amount of power in the Guard. However, they are usually never active in combat.
Max Spots: 1
Salary: 400 - 500 Coins (a week)

Captain
[Administrator Only]
The Major manages the lower ranks, as well as handles pay. The Major is almost never active in combat, mostly sitting in an office, and paying those who require their proper payment.
Max Spots: 1
Salary: 200 - 300 Coins (a week)

Sergeant
Sergeants are the highest ranking field officers in the Guard. They manage the troops, lead them into combat, and lead them out of it. They direct the soldiers in a combat sense, and are usually active in combat.
Max Spots: 4
Salary: 40 - 60 Coins (a week)

Soldier
Soldiers are the backbone of the Guardsmen. They're, well, soldiers. They're the most active in combat, have no command over anything and are the lowest rank in the Guardsmen. You become a Soldier when you apply and are accepted for the Guard, having the most duties, and the most combat activity. All they have to do is fight to/and protect.
Max Spots: No Limit
Salary: 20 - 40 Coins (a week)

How to Join

You join ICly -and- OOCly. Simply make an application in the Applications section. Be sure you read the Format first! Once you're done applying, post a roster entry in the Roster. Don't be afraid to get creative, after-all, your character is applying ICly, as you are OOCly.

Do note that Sergeant applications have to be accepted by The Captain only. They require at-least 10 sentences of your reasons, and plentiful information as to why you want to join the Royal Guard. I know how to count, so don't try and evade it.

You'll need three accepts for your applications. Anybody can accept it. Administrator's acceptance don't give you an extra boost. When accepting a person, you must post reasons on why you are accepting it. You may also deny it! Just make sure to speak your mind about the person, and your opinion as to why they should be accepted, or denied.

Duties

All Talibarian Guard soldiers must:
1. Collect loans that have not been paid back in a long time. (You can check this with rp_loans in console if you're flagged Guard.) --OBSOLETE, TacoScript needed.--
2. Defend the town. If creatures attack, use your weapons and abilities to drive it out! Avoid killing on city ground!
3. Enforce laws. Jail lawbreakers. (using Zip Ties--OBSOLETE, TacoScript needed.--) Check on suspicious people, to make sure they are not causing trouble.
4. Halt any displays of violence in the town.
5. Patrol and stay on watch when there is nothing else to do. Lawbreakers and enemies can appear at the slightest unexpected moment! You must be prepared!
6. Carry your weapon(s) at all times. Never drop your guard, or go on duty unprepared.
7. Do not indulge in illegal activities.
8. Do not drink alcoholic beverages on the job.

If there are any questions, comments, suggestions, or complaints, you may post them in the OOC Discussion thread.

If a member is creating ooc problems, please report them to me, Rutabega directly on forums or over SF.

If there's anything that needs adding, just let me know.
