Explanation
Vardainiél is a Highborn Elf from Estivon. Her stature within the forests and cities was high enough to warrant a title of which her people had to refer to her as 'Hiril', or 'Lady'. This was only a ceremonial honour however, and she held no authority over the realm of Estivon at the time of it's attack by the forces of the Drow in the God War. After moving there from the far off cities of the Elves, she was able to aid the surviving forces in recovering some of their sanity and partially some of their emotions whilst under the influence of her armour, becoming the Avatar of Heryn. However, she forgot this, and cannot remember her armour's use. Because of this she is now named 'Heryn' to the older people of Estivon. They treat her with some form of respect, but nothing like they used to before the God War.

How old does she appear to be?
As all Elves do, Vardainiél keeps her looks from the first time she reached physical maturity. This means she looks the same as she did when she aged to 100, the equivalent of a human reaching the age of 20. The glow in her soul however has grown strong and resonant indeed. Over the period of five-hundred years her soul has grown in brightness and potency, attuning her paths towards music towards being the finest of the Elven bards.

Eye Color
Though not directly from Estivon, her eyes seem to be coloured much alike to an Elf from that exact realm. They glow with yellow brightness, which allows for the pupils to be seen, but also the ability of seeing 25 feet in every direction in the night. They also allow for lucid dreaming due to a connection to the brain only Elves can truly possess. When they sleep, they know they are dreaming and can control their dreams to manipulate them to their liking.


Height
Vardainiél stands at 6'5, quite average for an Elf of Estivon. She is able to keep her own against monsters and still able to fit through the smaller doorways of men. She sometimes wears a cloak to hide her facial features, which also makes her seem higher than what she is due to the design of Elven cloaks.



Place of Origin
Vardainiél hails from the Ahdsurian Isles, from the city of Filhadhel on the coast. From there she moved at an early age to Nuihadhas, Estivon in the human tongue. There she spent most of her young life and she considers herself instead from Estivon, and not from the Isles.

Childhood
Vardainiél stared across at Celénion, her friend for almost one-hundred years. He was wielding a sword crafted from the trees and the ground around them, and it already bore blood. He was looking across at the his opponent, who was clutching a wound. Blood flowed through the cracks in her fingers and she showed anger as she ground her teeth together in pain. The sword had cut deep through the traditional armour of the training students and now the deep gash seemed to flow more and more every second. The iron armour had jarred inwards and looked deadly should anyone try to fix it. Taking two steps forward, Celénion dropped his sword in horror. Vardainiél fell to the grass, her vision blanking out. Both of them had been sparring with swords earlier in an attempt to match the skill of the training-masters they had seen earlier. It had taken a long pitched battle before one of them had inflicted a wound on the other. It had started when the students of the training arena had tried to emulate their favourite heroes in battle, and the two had been no exception. Vardainiél had been Heryn, the sword-lady of the Nanduhirion and the protector of the weak. Celénion had been Faenadhel, the legendary shortsword master of the academy. They had been sparring until one had gotten more aggressive than the other. One swift strike was all it took to puncture a deep wound in Vardainiél. As she fell to the floor of the arena, her vision faded to black, her last vision being the look of horror on Celénion's face and the academy priests coming across the stone yard. Waking up the day later with her internal injuries healed to full strength, she headed out, although stiff from the bruises she had recieved during the fight which had now developed into full agonizing blotches on her skin, purple and brown. She dragged herself across the courtyard to exit the training-arena and the eyes of all the priests who only saw a young girl trying to emulate her favourite champion, an immature young Elf.

The Depart
The next few years were brighter than the last for Vardainiél. It turned out that the injuries she had recieved at the hands of her friend had caused something to go amiss with her personality. She seemed to react positively to work and her skills in playing instruments and the arts increased so fast she was considered one of the most talented children in the city in terms of music. She was taken in by the Guild of Bards and trained up to be the top of her class, weaving spells with her violin, her instrument of choice. Though she isn't limited to it, she likes the sound of it when it plays a song and so she uses it. Before she left, she had to finish off her duties. This included taking up the next bard weaponry and armour for her physical age. Devoting herself to Heryn, the sword-lady of the Nanduhirion, she donned the enchanted armour, passed down through the Bard's Guild, with the accompanying personality change that the armour granted and the weapon of the former master. This weapon was the enchanted longsword of Caelas, a weapon capable of combatting foes with swift cuts and powerful blocks. The runes carved into the end allow for full control of the weapon should it be manipulated by magic, but it is used as a sidearm to her violin, which is the real source of her power. Due to the armour's personality and ability change, she is able to use techniques aged over centuries of Elves and the mastery of the violin. Though much knowledge has been lost since the God War, she has taken up the armour and is ready to learn new abilities and connections for the next vessel of Heryn. After leaving the shores of the Ahdsurian Isles, she ventured to the land of Estivon, where she began her participation in the God War, battling the Drow in a combat that would change the realm.

Wanderlust and Adjustment
During the God War, she fell for a powerful chosen Elf of Lathander, a hero of the people of Nuihadhas. He saw the beauty of her soul and fell in love with her in turn. During the battle of Caranalos, she was badly wounded by the hands of the Drow attack, and was left helpless on the battlefield. At the last moment of her life she was saved by the Chosen, who was wounded in the battle to save his lover. After he had felled so many enemies that they had retreated to the hills, he lay in the mud and darkness of the battlefield. Crawling slowly over to him, Vardainiél lay beside his mortally wounded body. In the last of his words, he told her that he would sacrifice his life and give the blessing towards her so that she would live to forget the horrors that happened, the events of the God War. The last thing she saw was his form fading, slowly dying to pass on the blessing to her. Then she went black. At the end of the God War, the land was destroyed, barren of all feelings and friendliness. The local populace turned insane, clawing at their thighs until the blood flowed freely. Others simply comitted suicide, or went into permanent paralysis. The realm was torn apart by the Drow and their darkness. The last stronghold of Duilannios-Dur was headed by the weak armies of the Estivonians. Within all this, Vardainiél was drove mad by her memories, entering paralysis a few times, only saved by the blessing that the Chosen had bestowed upon her. She ost her connection to the armour, drawn crazy by the pain she was feeling at the loss of her lover and the realm. Leaving the continent in madness, she fled to Sida where she spent an extremely long amount of years comitting all kinds of acts in her everlasting stupor. She almost lost herself in the mountains when she remembered the moment of her lover's death. Eventually, when she finally came around, she decided to right her wrongs and travel to Talibar, where she wrote her songs and played music for the down and the lost. Refining her skills without the aid of her now inactive armour, she is now a powerful bard, who aids her friends that she found in a bar fight in Imperia. She decided to jump in and help them and before she knew it, she had gained a few friends. She needed to forget her past completely. This was the first step on the path and she would follow it if it meant erasing all evidence of her past.

Greatest Strength
Vardainiél draws power from her violin and herself. Those elements combined make her one of the most deadly foes to come out of Estivon, with her defunct special blade and armour. Her spells draw power from her Elven soul and her songs which she uses to combat enemies, to buff friends and debuff enemies. She is a powerful foe indeed, but she does not attack without reason.


Greatest Weakness
Vardainiél is not able to fight at ranged combat and cannot fully use the armour's potential. To do so would mean having to remember herself before the God War, and to welcome in the personality of Heryn, therefore effectively becoming the vessel of the armour, instead of her own self.




Musical Proficiency

Vardainiél is able to use nearly every musical instrument known to the mortals of Talibar, Sida and every continent. This means she can pick up any instrument and use it as a weapon for her Bard magic, but it is less powerful if they are not enchanted.

Bard Proficiency

Vardainiél can pull off many spells which can enhance herself or improve her skills. This also applies to her enemies. She can also improve resistance to certain types of magic or knockback enemies.
'Feel the wrath of my magic!'



Spell Potency

Vardainiél can cast spells using her bard magic, but she is not as potent as she used to be. If she remembers the secrets of the armour however, she will change back into Heryn, and her personality will be lost inside the vessel, instead becoming a deadly weapon of magic.
'My magic is drawn from the soul, not simply from a book.'


Melee Combat

Vardainiél is slightly proficient with her enchanted blade, which allows for swift attacking and fast cuts, faster than a usual Elf's blows. This makes her able to defend herself, but she cannot attack very well.

Enchanting

Vardainiél is able to enchant using magic from her Bard magic. These are not complex enchantments, and very rarely do they turn out to be permanent, as is the way with Bards.
'I feel this lute requires a little more kick. Let's see what I can do.'



Prominent Spells

Dancing Lights

Depending on the potency, she can create up to four lights that resemble lanterns or torches (and cast that amount of light), or up to four glowing spheres of light (which look like will-o’-wisps), or one faintly glowing, vaguely humanoid shape. The dancing lights must stay within a 10-foot-radius area in relation to each other but otherwise move as she desires (no concentration required): forward or back, up or down, straight or turning corners, or the like. The lights can move up to 100 feet per round. A light winks out if the distance between her and it exceeds the spell’s range. These lights are permanent and will be decast only at will.

Whispering Wind

She can send a message or sound on the wind to a designated spot. The whispering wind travels to a specific location within range that is familiar to her, provided that it can find a way to the location. A whispering wind is as gentle and unnoticed as a zephyr until it reaches the location. It then delivers its whisper-quiet message or other sound. Note that the message is delivered regardless of whether anyone is present to hear it. The wind then dissipates.

She can prepare the spell to bear a message of no more than twenty-five words, or merely have the whispering wind seem to be a faint stirring of the air. She can likewise cause the whispering wind to move as slowly as 1 mile per hour or as quickly as 1 mile per 10 minutes.

Animate Objects

She can imbue inanimate objects with mobility and a semblance of life. Each such animated object then immediately attacks whomever or whatever she initially designates. An animated object can be of any nonmagical material. This spell cannot animate objects carried or worn by a creature.

Feather Fall

The affected creatures or objects fall slowly. Feather fall instantly changes the rate at which the targets fall to a mere 60 feet per round (equivalent to the end of a fall from a few feet), and the subjects take no damage upon landing while the spell is in effect. However, when the spell duration expires, a normal rate of falling resumes.



Enchanted Sword of Caelas
The sword she recieved when she left the island, it bears the crest of Caelas and the righteous power of Heryn. It's runes scratched deep into the blade speak of the power of defence, but it is defunct like the armour. Therefore she just uses it as an artifact weapon, unaware of it's power.

Inactive Armour of Heryn
Vardainiél's Armour is now inactive, but it still serves the purpose of protecting her body from sword attacks. It does not power her spells or up the potency anymore, and never will; Until she returns to the form of Heryn, to become a vessel. To do so could take until the end of her life, if she doesn't find out. When she dies, her blessing is passed onto the armour, for the next bearer to use. Such is the way of the armour.

Vardainiél's Violin was fletched and enchanted by her hands, and is her weapon of choice when it comes down to combat as she casts her spells through music.
