Maximillian always found the Surge Blast hard to master due to unknown reasons, and as thus is more of a danger to himself than anybody else when using it. He even went as far as to break his right arm once during practice of its usage.
Detection of loss of life and magic

A very basic ability that most vindicators possess, Maximillian can easily sense magical auras, but has a harder time sensing death. He can sense a high concentration of death very easily, and can even sense recently diseased corpses from a very short distance away.
Masking his alignment, thoughts and powers.

Maximillian is very rarely found on diplomatic missions, and as thus hasn't even bothered practicing this power.
Heightened physical state

The common heightened physical state as common for all vindicators is present in Maximillian as well. He is not nearly as strong, fast or agile as vampires or other superhuman races, and he doesn't surpass even the best non-magic humans in history. But he can still pull of feats of acrobacy and strenght that your regular farmer wouldn't manage.
Combat using Sword and Shield

Maximillian was first trained by the Talibarian legion, and then spent 5 years fighting to the death in the Occitanian Arena. Due to this he has developed quite the skill with both the shield and the sword. He utilizes a much more acrobatic fighting style than most, and is very good at this particular style of combat.
Abjuration; Telekinesis

Maximillian has dedicated his life to mastering the arts of telekinesis and affecting objects without physical touch. At his current skill level, he can manipulate objects at ranges of up to 20 meters. The larger the object is, the slower it will move under his control, and the harder he will have to concentrate to maintain control of it. This skill doesn't tie directly to his physical strength, so he can manipulate objects larger than he could physically lift. But this is incredibly cumbersome on him and requires a great deal of concentration. There is a limit to what he can lift and move. At his current level of skill he has been known to lift objects that weight up to 120 kilograms. While this is a useful skill indeed, it does not allow him to pick up any tiny pebble and turn them into a lethal projectile. At most he might be able to fling it at the head of someone to their minor annoyance. But they won't be wounded or hurt, other than some superficial pain. He can also cause certain "jolts" of force, pushing or pulling things around as if he had just been kicked or thrown from it's current possession.
Magical Energy Manipulation

Magical energy manipulation is one of the hardest skills for a vindicator to master. And as thus, Maximillian attempted it only for a few weeks because he gave up due to a lack of progress.
Backstory: Maximillian grew up the son of a deceased mother, with a father that was a local businessman. At the age of twelve, Max signed up for a local magic school and begun training in the usage of telekinesis within the field of Abjuration. He continued his studies here until he was twenty-five, upon which he signed up for the Talibarian legion and begun his training. After his training was finished, he was stationed on the border between Talibar and Sarkun. After two years in service on this border, Maximillian was given a handful of fresh recruits and told to show them the ropes of field duty. He didn't think much of it and took them out on a field trip into the jungles of Sarkun to show them basic survival skills. How to find food and make fire, the like. But they were ambushed by slavers. The entire group of Maximillian and 8 recruits were captured and smuggled back over the Talibarian border. The slavers travelled up north, into Occitan. Here they made alot of money selling all their slaves to local "bloodied school". And with that Maximillian begun a career of killing in the arena. He spent five years fighting in the arena for the entertainment of the Occitanians. One night he saw an opportunity, and escaped from the school. He took nothing but his armour and weapons that he used during arena mathces with him, and fled back to Talibar. Here he came in contact with the group known as "The Vindicators". He immediately asked to join, and has been with them for four years now.

I think this is pretty damn reasonable for a Vindicator. And, no doubt Psyche's had a hand in looking this over. Where he's strong, he's weak to counter balance it. And it's Mack. Massive trust. FUCK YOUR SHIT
