Spells & Abilities
Spoiler:
Forest's Daughter [Passive/Defensive Ability]
Due to her nature as a dryad, she is entirely protected with a thick and strong layer of bark. Her "flesh" is also tough and resilient, adding to her endurance. She is highly resistant to poison and diseases, as well as cold and heat. However, she is very vulnearble to fire and she cannot be healed with traditional healing spells and potions. Every hour she can make her bark tough as metal, greatly increasing her toughness and endurance for a little while, up to ten minutes when mastery is reached. Each level adds a minute to the effect. [Current duration: 4 minutes.]
<{ | | | | - - - - - - }>
Symbiosis [Utility/Defensive Ability]
Allows Iarakine to root and uproot herself from the ground. When Iarakine is rooted, she is rendered immobile, but can draw nutrients from the earth which allows her to replenish her energies and heal herself at a largely increased speed. When she is rooted, she may sprout vines from her arms which she can use to slash at any adverasry at short to medium range. Uprooting trades these abilities for mobility. Skill with this ability dictates how fast Iarakine may root and uproot, the rate of her regeneration when rooted and her overall speed when uprooted.
<{ | | | | - - - - - - }>
Osmosis [Restorative Ability]
Iarakine can draw nutrients and energy from surrounding plants and trees, which allows her to regain her strength and heal her injuries far faster. However, when the ability is in effect, Iarakine cannot engage in other activities, save for speaking. While in use, if the ability is interrupted, all drawn energies and nutrients will be dispersed and the restoration cancelled. Each level reduces the time it takes her to fully recover. [Current downtime: 6 minutes.]
<{ | | | | - - - - - - }>
Father's Grace [Restorative Ability]
Allows Iarakine to use the combined energies of the nature and weave to rapidly heal injuries upon herself or other beings alike herself. This restorative spell is ineffective when used on ordinary people. The strength and duration of the healing effect increase as the dryad progresses further with this ability. While the spell is in effect, Iarakine or the target of this ability will continuously heal over time. Upon mastering this skill, Iarakine may release ripples of healing energy around herself, allowing her to rejuvinate her kin and plantlife around herself. The ability can be used twice per hour. [Current duration: 2 minutes]
<{ | | | | - - - - - - }>
Thorns [Defensive Ability]
Tough and sharp thorns sprout from the bark and 'skin' of Iarakine, creating an additional defensive layer for her. The thorns could also be used for offensive purposes within close-quarters-combat. With each level, the thorns become tougher and more numerous.
<{ | | | - - - - - - - }>
Elder's Splinter [Support Ability]
Allows Iarakine to sprout an enchanted and poisoned wooden spear to use. The skill with this ability dictates how strong the spear, its' enchantment and poison will be, as well as how many times the spear may be grown before needing to replenish her energies. The spear will wither when it is sheathed. [Current successive uses: 3]
<{ | | | - - - - - - - }>
Strangling Vines [Offensive Ability]
Large and strong vines sprout from the ground to slash and choke Iarakine's enemies. The ability may be used for both lethal and nonlethal purposes. The vines will become more numerous with each consecutive level of this skill, will gain thorns at rank 5 and poison ability at rank 8. Upon mastering the ability, Iarakine may use a large portion of her energies to fill an entire area with vines and brambles. [Current number of vines: 6]
<{ | | | - - - - - - - }>
Blossom of Life and Decay [Offensive/Restorative Ability]
Iarakine may release toxic spores from a part of the flowers growing on her that will fill an area around her with debiliating and halluciogenic neurotoxins. The spores will decay rapidly when the use of this ability is ended. When Iarakine is rooted, she may release rejuvinating and healing spores from the rest of her blossoming flowers which will heal both plantlife and ordinary people alike. The amount and potency of the spores will increase when the caster grows in skill with this ability, starting with spores that merely interfere with one's senses or speeds up the restoration of lighter wounds.

Biography
Spoiler:
A gentle autumn breeze passes through the scared glade of Feroniae, lightly brushing through the leaves and bushes, a light rustle orchestrating the wind's dance. The branches sway slightly and the leaves shudder. A small acorn falls from a father. It falls and gently dives into a pool of crystal-clear waters. The seedling sinks to the bottom of the shallow pool as a soft blanket of dirt covers it. The seedling sleeps.
Another harsh winter passes. The trees shudder. They stay strong as they have for countless years. The seedling sleeps, but a life stirs within, under the frozen coat of the crystalline pool. We sleep, the roots dig deeper into the frozen soil. Once the warmth of the sun once again wakes the glade from its hibernation, a miracle has happened: a single stalk peeks from the bright waters, small white flower opens it petals. The seedling is growing, pulsing strong with young vigor and life.
Another cycle in the line of countless past and even more to come. The seedling reaches towards the sun. Its small leaves spread as the small stalk grows stronger. It spreads the roots of its own. Determined and strong. Another blink in the eternity. A cold mist slowly rolls over the glade. The season of sleep is coming once more. The small seedling is strong. It withstands the mists and storms. It too shall sleep among its fathers. It shall grow strong.
Our branches feel warmth. Leaves grow. The forest whispers as the sun awakens us again. The seedling shudders. It shakes the white coat off, reaches towards the warmth. It is no longer a seedling. The grove's daughter has become a sapling. Young it may be, but the greatest of forces pulses within. The small, fragile branches grow towards the light, her leaves crave the sun in this season of growth.
Raindrops fall into the glade. The precious water soaks into the soil and falls within the crystalline pool. The young daughter has grown strong. The roots are strong, they drink the fresh waters. Soon, she will be ready to join her sisters and fathers. Another moment. The time of rest is at hand, the leaves grow golden. The last drops fall into the glade. The young daughter will soon awaken.
The forest whispers again. It has woken. The daughter no longer rests in the crystalline pool. The old roots speak. Iarakine. Iarakine, they call for their daughter. She listens as the leaves tell secrets to her. The fathers teach her. She grows stronger with each of our blink. The season of growth is upon us again, as it has been for longer than anyone remembers. Iarakine grows in strength of body and mind. The daughter will tend to the fathers and elders. She too shall protect the scared grove that gave birth to her and her sisters.
The grove stands still. It waits, listens. Outsiders have found our ancient home. Daughters of the glade wait in hiding, the leaves listen to the speech of the interlopers. Their intents may be just, we wait. Branches shudder and roots cry out, a gash plain as day is drawn in one of us. Sap bleeds into the soil, the grove rustles in anger. The tresspassers wish to destroy our sacred glade. Daughters come from hiding, retaliate against those wishing to harm us. Intruders fall one after other. Their feeble coils shall nourish the grove, enter the cycle once more.
We sleep again, another hasty blink along the life's branch passes. The vigilant daughters tend to the glade and banish those wishing to harm it. They shall watch over their fathers and elders in this endless circle. Leaves watch over them, branches guide them as their stems and minds grow.
Alignment Lawful Neutral. "Iarakine is fairly impartial and distant to anything besides her kin. She does as her fathers wish her to do, but also has respect to the rules and wishes of others."

Favored Weapon Her spear and abilities.

Oh god if this isn't a reference to Heldrak...
As always a lovely + pretty character page, and a unique concept. The amount of skills + spells always worries me a little, but it's not that bad when you read into it.
...strangling vines is still terrifying.

You're the first one to take note to that and bring it up, Krug. Congratulations.

I made a dryad character once ;-; - my own fault for never using her I guess

In light of more recent standards for accepting characters, I'd like to see some of the magics nerfed or removed from this character, maybe even a bit of her strength. She's just too much for this early in the RP.

Shelving Iarakine for the time being due to unsatisfactory amount of progress.
