You really wish your boss would stop leaving dead critters for you to find in the morning.
It's disgusting, plus you are starting to get really sick.
Sighing, you go to toss the dead animal out before it stinks up the place anymore.

You live in the town of Apricot, an old community with nothing particularly special or notable about it. To be truthful, barely anyone but the people who live here even know about this place, it's so bland.
Today, this will change, but lets not get ahead of ourselves.

Be the girl.
Of course you are the girl, what is wrong with you? You can't--and don't want to be--otherwise! Not a vending machine, not a 'combine', whatever the hell that is.



After realizing you slept in your clothes, you check your phone. Just in time to be almost late for work.




You head downstairs, giving a brief glance to the shipment from last night that kept you awake in the first place.

A few hours after throwing the dead critter out, you start to feel woozy. You start to breathe shallower, before blacking out and bashing your head against the edge of the counter, falling to the floor.

You see this everyday on the way to work. You are pretty sure you'd enjoy it more if you liked chocolate and women.



You head into the PD, spotting Riley at the counter. You aren't sure what he's wearing (and for some reason the boss allows it), but that and his constantly staring at the screen on the back wall as though he can actually read the quickly scrolling text unnerves you.



Riley turns towards you, giving you a blank stare, like every morning. "Nice to see you showed up again, uh... What was your name again?"



Like every morning, you tap the ID clipped to your shirt, and like every morning, he nods slightly and waves a pointed finger at you, "Mercy, yeah, yeah!"
Rolling your eyes, you head upstairs to the office.

After a few minor morning jobs, you head out to the gas station. Someone complaining about it being unattended, or something.
You head in, and you are met with the stink of rotting something. Automatically, you go to check behind the glass, seeing the clerk lying on the floor.





You drag him out, to the clinic, not even a block away. When you crash inside, the doctor looks up from his paper with a boring face. He sighs loudly, tossing the paper to the side and motioning towards the bed, "Put him up."



You toss him onto it haphazardly, to which the doctor grimaces, waving you away. You really want to punch him, and you would, if he wasn't the only doctor in town.
