Spoiler:
Worshipers of Bane seek power in nearly every station of life, with the aim of one day turning it over to the Black Lord. Calneche seeks such power. With concealed Banism and a mind coiled in the dealings of the Black Lord, Veremoth the Vicious has risen to lead the known and unknown forces of Bane to complete this goal. Over the course of time, his skills with the blade evolved making him a deadly individual. This aided him when working as a bounty hunter, and infiltrating the town guard. His next move, the council. The plan grew stronger and Bane's dark plans are beginning to unfold.
In the months after entering the guard, him and others were sent to The Wastes as a "training" or to kill off the weaker guardsmen. Deserting the original course of action he was assigned in The Wastes, he set out of the secretive Blank Hand hiding in the area. This was not originally Bane's plan, but a spiritual intervention of mystic proportions.
Insurrection, against Bane
Spoiler:
Calneche's road to destruction and control was obliterated by the forces which guides the lands secretly. His understanding was rewritten upon the crossing of the ruined temple known as Zaarin, the fortress to the great and ancient dragon Kalv and the Vanirian race. Veremoth was wrapped in skins to stay warm in the freezing weather. Crossing what appeared to be a frozen lake bed Calneche fell through a weak spot in the ice, cursing as he shattered his leg on the way down from what he believed was a pocket of air which the ice had frozen over. He used his enchanted sword to illuminate his potential tomb. He was oddly startled as there was a great dragon staring him directly in the eyes. Not of flesh and scale, but of marble and valuable metals such as old decayed silver. The statue dedicated to Kalv after his death. Veremoth cursed at whatever heathen temple the place may be, as he made himself a splint to walk. As he stood up and rose his sword to destroy the statue he was stopped, staring into the icy gems used as Kalv's eyes. They seemed to glow brighter as his sword fell to the ground and shattered like glass.
Dark energies in which the sword was formed exploded outward leaving the cave from the hole in which Calneche fell. The temple quaked as the energy shook the ground. Veremoth could suddenly move as he felt a great burning sensation from around his neck. He quickly clawed for his necklace and as he grasped to throw it away it seared his hand. He threw it away as quickly as he could. As he looked down upon his necklace it seemed to melt into a small charred pile. In disbelief he scanned the room yelling, "What sort of trickery is this!? What being dare cross me!? Show yourself!" As he wished, a loud and old, deep voice spoke from statue.
"Who and where I am is not important Veremoth, for I already stand before you and you know who I am."
Puzzled, he frantically looked to the large statue, the eyes of it aglow and looking at him. The statue now had hot steam come from it's nostrils, as if alive and breathing. He jumped and fell backwards as it blinked and shivered slightly. Veremoth replied to the being with fear, true fear which he had not felt in ages. "W.. What are you...?" "You do not remember me? Think back to your younger years, when you were still but a child. You will see me." Veremoth didn't understand what to do, other than think over his brief memories and seeing nothing. "I do not remember. Explain.." The dragon exhaled a cloud of smoke in amusement and irritation for Calneche's indoctrination that had clouded his true memories. "Look at your hand, son of Nergúl. You will see what you do not remember." Veremoth looks down, examining his burned hand from where his pendent of Bane scarred him. Oddly enough, there was a unique burn in his hand. In ignorance he looked up infuriated and yelled at the being, "What are you trying to pull, demon?" And as the last words slipped from Calneche's mouth, Kalv's neck extended as Calneche's last view as a Banite was of rows of teeth engulfing him in darkness. Like lightning hundreds of visions came before his eyes. The beginning of Kalv, The Wastes, Nergúl, and the battle between the demigods and the Vanirian people at the Temple of Zaarin.
Calneche awoke, looking around as he ran through all of the new information he had been given. The statue was now gone, its purpose served. He examined his leg to find it healed and his tainted mind had been purged. Standing, he looked around to see there was a way out but his eyes were drawn back to the place of the statue. Where it previously sat, two sabers with ancient writings engraved on them lay in sheaths. The weapons of Nergúl, the first Vanirian. Under them, shining as if emitting it's own light was a mysteriously engraved ring with a white crystal as its center. Under that crystal Calneche could see into it as if the eyes of Kalv stared back. The ring seemed to tug on him to return to Surna. With haste he made his way to a port, where he got a transport to Narvik, and a caravan going past Surna where he would stop, and return to the unknown that awaits.
