This means: No nude pictures, inappropriate/explicit content or conversations, or suggestive material are allowed. Take it to Steam Friends ONLY. Pregnancy / Children / Minor IC mention is all okay. Do not tell anyone about your sensual encounters / experiences in OldenRP!
People have been breaking this rule, even the Admins. I mean, they -always- have, but it's been getting out of hand. You'd think that some people wouldn't, you know, be offended by this? (People like me, >:l) As said by Zaku; - Quote :
- Seriously,
Lets STOP talking about rape, and sex, and what-not involving this character. Are we really that pathetic, to the point where the FIRST thing that comes to mind when we see a character, whose picture is attractive is RAPE, or SEX.
I know I'm nobody to talk, but we've really got to become more mature. There may be some of us in this community who take offense to this, or are feeling uncomfortable. Especially Females in our community, believe it we have them. Do you honestly think they enjoy looking into a thread full of sex, and rape? A very good point. Now, I'm just a Moderator. But I'd suggest that.. FROM NOW ON, THE SEX RULE, WILL BE ENFORCED, TO THE FULLEST!! |

| It's about time, And to be honest, I'm ashamed of myself for breaking these rules for so long. We as a community need to abide to this, and have respect for those of us who take offense to this. Let me restate: - Quote :

Is this the kind of image we want our community to uphold? |

| Hello everyone,
If you don't know me by now I reckon you're retarded; Anyways.
I support this, this rule has been broken by mostly everyone and has made Olden into a 'nudity bar'. I would appreciate if everyone would please remain PG on the server and just in general unless it is a private roleplay in which could be rated PG13 to rated R. But I would like everyone, speaking as a player and not a moderator canidate, to follow these rules. It is quite irritating when all you hear is; - Quote :
- 'Oh my god, he cheated on me with her.'
'I know right, he cheated on me to after a long night of sex.' 'You stole my man too!' 'Catfight!' And things like this.
It gets rather annoying.
Now get out there, be men [or women, you know who you are], and learn to roleplay without having to have sex with every women you see on the internet.
I would also like to say that -I- have broken the rule too and feel guilty for doing so. But I would like to redeem myself by working my hardest to fix this problem.

Has -anyone- else here had a point in their life where they were so sexually prude? I know I have. I hope Aeria turns into the anti-sexual-joke kind of setting I grew up in when I played SC.
EDIT: Well not exactly "anti-sexual-joke" but to the point where we aren't considered a perverted community. Has anyone else here called someone else a pervert and actually be one to talk? (I mean anywhere in their past, or right now for that matter) I STAND BY MY PAST PRUDENCY!! EDIT:DIV NINJA'D ME!! >_< |

I suggest we stay on-topic this time.

| I'd also like to point out that this rule will be enforced -very strictly-, just as it was when RedPet was banned.
Thanks for your time.
Good day. |

| You see, I've always had my doubts about this rule. That's because there's a simple issue of double standards, and on flexibility.
First of all, I believe that the real purpose of this is to mantain the reputation of Aeria, not to make this kid friendly, because that would be a huge double standard. Therefore, we shouldn't be talking about ratings like PG, or R.
Something that isn't clear, and that is hard to define is to what extent does this rule go. Because, for some people, ANY mention of anything sexual is obscene. Then again, for some others, it goes to about third base. It's not as easy as simply deciding "Oh we're gonna enforce it more", no. It's not even clear on how to enforce such a rule due to this ambiguities, so I say we analize this, shall we?
First of all, there comes the issue of characters. Are we saying that for example, Naria, shouldn't exist due to the fact that she's well endowed? That all characters have to be desexualized? Because there's other uses to that kind of qualities. Naria for example, is supposed to give the air of a motherly figure, of fertility, youth, and beauty, which creates a duality due to her childish personality. But there's for example one of my characters, Grimace, who is a fat bald ugly asexual dude who only wears leather, a sharp contrast with Naria, since Grimace gives an air of repugnance and unattractiveness.
Therefore, the sexual qualities of a character, are important to a character. While some overlook it, or make it less evident, the sex appeal of a character is always there, it can't ever be removed, even Grimace, who actually has negative sex appeal. Some exploit this, yes, but there's very important uses to physical attractiveness or unattractiveness.
Although, I'm sure most of you only mean for sexual encounters. That's were we find the double standards, since what an admin considers sex RP isn't for another. I'm sure ones find sex just two people getting in a bed, while others actually doing something there. And l am sure most admins won't tell you what that line is, until time for punishment is due.
This is something that should be defined. What counts as sex RP?
Although, if the rule is there to keep shit kid friendly, I'll have to give one huge fucking go to hell to whoever wrote it.

So Second, Third, and Fourth base is all considered SexRP Second base=Groping, making out Third=Oral sex, blow jobs, going down on a girl, fingering, jacking off Fourth=Penetration of sexual organs.

And stay permavirgins. This rule obviously isn't made to make Aeria kid friendly- fuck the kids. It was mainly made because people abused sexRP and bumped uglies like rabbits and dogs. Otherwise without the rule, why would people want to join this community when people cyber because they have needs or they think it makes their e-penis bigger? |

| I'm not sure what you're getting at kama. If it's really that unclear what SexRP is defined as, then add its definition to the rule. Personally, I define Sexually explicit RP as any of the following:
- Contact of genitalia (duh) - Removal of clothing (with sexual intentions) - Consensual, repeated groping/fondling of inappropriate areas - Oral sex or oral contact with sex organs (I wouldn't condone RPing breastfeeding)
It's not hard to draw a line and punish those who cross it.
Now the question is: What's the purpose of banning it? Simple, it's unnecessary, offensive, and in many cases, disturbing. It's basically having porn stories on the server. With other people. What's the big deal about fast-forwarding to a point after the act is done? What could you possibly Role-Play during that time that is so important?
I think following through with this proposal can only be a good thing, frankly.
PS: Divinity, I can barely read anything you're saying. Must you make every single post super-small and in yellow? It's annoying.

Second base=Groping, making out Third=Oral sex, blow jobs, going down on a girl, fingering, jacking off Fourth=Penetration of sexual organs. See what I mean? This is where double standards are made. While you both agree that there shouldn't be actual coitus, anything before that is in this grey line. Psyche says that making out, AKA, kissing passionately, maybe some rubbing of the back, something slightly suggestive yet still clothed is against the rules. Although, Munroe says that anything sexual without clothes is against the rules. One thing doesn't contain the other. Personally, I only think something that everyone would agree on would be nothing involving actual genital interaction. I don't think making out should be banned, it leads to sex, but it isn't sex. Breastfeeding seems like a natural part of pregnancy, which isn't banned. Then again, there's also another part of the rule, that says " Do not tell anyone about your sensual encounters / experiences in OldenRP ". I'm assuming that's an OOC rule, not an IC one, but since you never know, lets see it from both points of view. If it's IC, this would mean that you can't say for example "I did this girl." Which is also that needs to be defined, to what point can you say stuff like that? I believe it is that you can say "I'm not a virgin anymore", but can't say "I have a boner", am I right? If this is OOC, then that's gonna be hard as hell to enforce, since you can't control what people say outside the game. So, I say you guys rewrite the rule, so it's perfectly understandable by everything, before you start getting strict with it. That's what places like TnB and Facepunch don't do, and result in a large amount of dissatisfied people. Don't get me wrong, I'm not against the rule, I just want it to be fair to everyone, as to avoid future problems.

| I myself agree with Donny on limits, but again that's just me. I personally think we should set up a rough guideline with a somewhat grey area that will require some thinking on part of the players. In short it'd be "If you arn't sure, take it to SF to be safe." I personally define things that should not be allowed on server as follows.
-Digits/mouth to any of your own or others sex organs, clothed or not.
-Kissing is fine, but if we're talking tongue then again, use jurisdiction and suggest that you just take it to SF to be safe.
-Any form of dry humping, clothed or not.
-And of couse third and fourth base is no-no
Again, this is just me. |

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against the rule, I just want it to be fair to everyone, as to avoid future problems. That's pretty much what I was trying to say. If it's so unclear, then make it clear, and start enforcing it strictly. Really though, it's primarily common sense. If anything your character is doing or saying would make you blush in real life, it's probably not appropriate RP. This thread isn't really about giving opinions on what's SexRP and what's not; it's also about an overall lack of maturity in that area, which needs to change. Admins need to start following and enforcing these rules, and the constant barrage of OOC sexual innuendos (on the server itself) needs to be cut down or stopped entirely, else this server's reputation will further deteriorate. Regarding sexual references in-character: Again, it's common sense and a general understanding of how to RP. I rarely see two (adult / mature) people talking and openly joking about sex, genitalia, and who they screwed, so it's safe to assume RPing those kinds of conversations is poor RP. I find the idea of taking SexRP to SF, where it's basically private cybering, a tad disturbing, but I suppose it'd be impossible to ban that anyway. There would be no way of knowing who was doing it and when.

You can just tell people to stop saying it, and warn them, but banning is just too extreme. OOC should never have IC punishment. I mean, geez, most people are joking. Yeah, the innuendo gets old after a while, but it isn't hurting anyone. If you want it to stop, ask the people to stop. By a general rule, they stop after you ask them. And considering any sex related talk poor RP is just ridiculous. Sex is part of the human psyche, and it's something natural, the more we make it taboo, the more people want to break those taboos, and results in moral conflict. There must be an understanding, and a degree of flexibility, or else, bad stuff is going to happen. That's how every rule in fantasy RP should be, flexible. You can't enforce the same damn thing in fantasy because there isn't a set "fantasy" you all follow. People are different, they think different, and thus, you should always be adaptive in this kind of thing. If we get to the end of intolerance, shit's gonna get old real fast, and it'll be as bad as not doing anything at all.

Nobody's asking everyone to tighten up into some super-strict community with no joking allowed. The problem is the jokes are getting old, annoying, offensive, and out of hand. Aeria needs a more permanent solution then just asking people to stop. What you choose to say to your friends off the server and forums is your choice, but this is a public forum, and Aeria is a public server. Once again kama, I don't get what you're trying to say. You say you support this, but your arguments make it seem like you really don't.

It gives us a bad reputation, and I, personally, am simply tired of facepalming, at the RIDICULOUS amount of TRASH this community turns out. I'm sure turning this place squeaky clean is far too long of a goal. But, I at least want to be able to show my friends this site (Just an example) an not be embarrassed about how disgusting, immature, and just... childish they can be. I know I am ranting, but as I have said before, I have had enough.
