The Order of Concordic Knights

History and Information

In contrast to virtually every other comparable monastic Order, of which many grace the land of Talibar, The Order of Concordic Knights was established only five meager years ago. However, despite it's recent origins, it derives inspiration from
deep-rooted beliefs and traditions, the origins of which may be traced back long before Talibar and the age of men. It is, essentially, a vibrant resurgence of traditional Elven viewpoints, traditions, and faith, especially in strict allegiance to the Concord and stringent servitude to the Mandate.

The conception of the Concordic Order was seeded when it's future founder, a half-elf named Faeru Kelvas, was imparted a vision in which a cloaked figure, garbed in silver, compelled him to make a pilgrimage to Ahdsurian Isles, the ancient home of the Elves. The mysterious figure declared that true knowledge of good and evil was fading rapidly in both the land of men and the greater realm, and as thus, true knowledge must be restored, the last of which remained in the Elven homeland.

Thus Faeru departed for the ancient land, arriving swiftly by boat to the shores of the greatest of the Elven Isles, Aereasar. For a year Faeru walked among the Elder Race, learning swiftly of their ancient customs and beliefs. Over time, Faeru came to the realization that what the vision had declared was true; knowledge of the true path had been long lost to Talibar. What few aspects of truth that remained in the Empire had been sullied, degraded, turned into a mockery by the False-Prophet.

The time came when Faeru's pilgrimage brought him to the pearl-white gates of Tec'lis, capital of the Elven Isles, home to both the Elven High Tribunal and the Elven Order of Tyr.

Upon arrival to the grand city, Faeru was contacted by the Prime-Judicator himself-- the patriarch of the Order of Tyr. Appearing before him, his eminence explained that he received a similar vision-- the first of such since the legendary God War-- foreseeing his arrival and detailing the reason for his pilgrimage. The Judicator then stated that he had also been charged with a task-- to complete Faeru's education.

And thus, for the remainder of his pilgrimage Faeru studied directly at his excellence's feet, learning in excruciating detail ancient lore, holy magicks, and elegant combat. Faeru learned extraordinarily fast, and within six months his training was completed.

When Faeru slept upon the completion of his training, he was once again imparted a vision of the silver-clad figure. He revealed himself to be Tyr, God of Justice and architect of the Concord.

"The land of men is in chaos. Thousands of evil men still follow the corrupted teachings of the usurper, spreading pain and tyranny in my name. More still, pure men all, loose faith, having seen with their own eyes the evils done in the name of "good", slipping towards godlessness, and thus easy prey for the Dark Masters."

"This cannot continue. Thus, I have set into motion events that will lead to the purification of Talibar--with you as my chosen."

"You shall spread the true teachings across the realm, ushering in the innocent and purging the wicked. You are the aspect of the Concord's will, and will procure Talibar's entrance into the fold."

Faeru woke with fire in his heart, and set sail for Talibar.

Faith and Tenants

The Order of Concordic Knights believe in strict loyalty to the Mandate, which is, in Elven history, the specific vow made between mortals and the Gods Tyr, Kossuth, Helm, Torm, Ilmater and several others as part of the Concord. The Mandate charges the mortal populace to fight against evil and corruption wherever it might reside; to protect the weak; to be loyal to lords and masters; to protect Aeria and it's civilizations; to be faithful to the Gods of the Concord. In return for allegiance to said virtues, the Concord has declared that they in turn will guard the mortal realm from the corrupting influence of Darkness through both the Weave of the Mandate and in other forms.

The specific tenants for the Order, as described by it's founder, Faeru Kelvas, are as follows--

"The principles required of a Concordic Knight involves both duties and limitations. Each are as imperative as the other, and intrinsically linked; one cannot obey one and disobey another.

Your fourfold duties are to--

1. Faith. Hold steadfast resolution in the assurances of the Mandate as well as your fellow Knight. Follow the virtues embodied by the Gods of the Concord and pay respect to our celestial masters.

2. Family. Acknowledge and respect your ancestors, for their actions are what have laid foundation for the future. Never besmirch or belittle your family, house, or clan. Hold eternal loyalty for your kin.

3. Lord. Show proper respect and fealty to whosoever is the appointed lord of your land. Obey the laws set upon the land unless they in some way violate the Mandate. To the Great Lords of the Concord, show worship;to your King, show loyalty;to your master, show respect.

4. Land. Protect the land and it's populace, weak or strong; show proper fealty for the domains of nature, for the children of Lathander cultivate the land and it's people. Fight for the continued spread of Order and Civilization, which are the enemies of the Dark Spheres of Chaos and Tyranny.

Your limitations are--

1. Never are you to take an innocent life. If there is doubt, call upon the judgement of the Even-Handed to guide your blade.

2. Never are you to do evil in the name of the Concord. Such is a vile corruption of the nature of our Order.

3. Never are you to traffick with the dark ones, the Lords of darkness;nor are you permitted to traffick with their fallen servants, in all shapes and forms.

4. Never are you to betray the sacred Mandate or your assorted lords."
