Dwarf:

Dwarves average four feet in height, with squat, broad bodies. Male dwarves grow thick facial hair. It is often a sign of extreme sadness and mourning for a dwarf to shave his beard.

Dwarves get along fine with gnomes, who are often regarded as close cousins of the dwarven race. Dwarves are accepting of humans, half-elves and halflings. Dwarves often do not get to know humans well as they live longer than the average human, and prefer to become friendly with the humans' family in general. Dwarves have a mistrustment of half-orcs, and a failure to appreciate elves, who they only ally with in their many battles against orcs, goblins, gnolls, bugbears and trolls.

Needs to be expanded on biology, faith, culture, and..everything. >_>

The Dwarves believe in the "Founding Fathers". They were the first of their kind to build the great cities in which they live. Their creator was Aulë who made the race secretly beneath Oldenland. They were made before the firstborn race, but Aulë was not selected to create life. Tyr took pity on the Dwarves as Aulë was going to slay them. He told the Dwarves to go into a stone slumber, and wait until the firstborn arrive before they reawaken. The several "Fathers" sleep for many years to wait for the firstborn. The Dwarvish race look up to the Fathers as a diety, Tyr for his pity, along with Aulë, their creator.

-WIP History
When the Elves awoke, so did the Dwarves. They began to build in their caverns. Erecting large cities of stone and connecting them by underground roads. These cities are know to produce the finest Mithril ore and armors. As they expanded, and time went by, orc, goblins, and wandering creatures from the Underdark found their way into Dwarvish tunnels and cities. The Dwarves had their first threats. As the elvish race expanded, they traded with the Dwarves for mithril.
