- The Plague Report
Author: Alexia Thiessen Date: May 14th
As of today, it has been roughly three days since the outbreak of the plague.
Many are showing clear signs of infection, confirming suspicions that this is, indeed, a plague. Common symptoms appear to be a high fever, and nausea. There are also increasing reports of vomiting, and a blood condition known as "hemophilia", where the blood does not clot, and even the smallest wound bleeds immensely. Oddly enough, plants and animals seem affected by the plague as well. Plants are shriveling, and animals are dying.
With the arrival of aid from Imperia, Surna is one step closer to a cure. The quarantine continues, though troubling reports indicate the appearance of this plague outside of Surna, in the nearby wilderness. It is theorized that birds or insects may have carried the plague past the quarantine. Again, you are urged to remain calm, as the Empire will try its best to contain the plague and cure it.

Today, the plague has become extremely aggressive, showing clear symptoms in the infected. Vomiting and hemophilia remain the primary symptoms. The death toll has risen by 15 since the initial outbreak, making the total number of deaths from the attack 42.
Plant life has begun to wither and die, and the plague has been confirmed in areas beyond the quarantine. However, hope for a cure remains high.

Today is Day 5, and the worst day thus far.
The death toll has skyrocketed beyond count, as bodies literally pile up in the streets. Neighboring villages are showing initial signs of plague, and plants for miles around the epicenter of this disease have begun to die out. For most, the disease is in an advanced and aggressive stage; all symptoms have made themselves rudely known. No fluids or foods can be retained, no wound will close on its own, and the fever burns hotter than ever.
I must tell you the truth, as I have since day one. This may be the last article I write. Do not lose hope, but understand that things will get worse before they are made right again. A cure will come, and hopefully, Surna will survive, and someday return to its former glory. Goodbye.

Day 7
Though the plant life is irreparably damaged, Surna's people begin to recover. The dying has stopped. That a cure was created so quickly against such impossible odds is a testament to the fortitude, intelligence, and resources of the Empire.
The plague is not over, however, and continues to affect many. Foreign aid is being sent, from the country of Kerodil. This marks the first time Kerodil has sent aid to Talibar, and is hopefully the beginning of a strong alliance.
