This world is dead but for a few types of animals and several small human villages. Its landscape is mostly barren desert, bleak and lifeless. Rocky crags and small cliffs dominate the landforms, and the planet contains many large mountain ranges. The days are bitterly hot, and much of the water is underground or evaporated. Tornal has no oceans, merely lakes and rivers here and there, oases to the tortured humans stuck there.

While containing little resources or anything of use, the planet is in a vital strategic location, and an ideal staging ground and hiding place for future assaults on the Imperium. It is in the same subsector as Corleonis and Vytaeus.

A small exploration team enters the old tunnel blasted open from a nitroglycerin charge. The rock on Tornal is volcanic, and shook violently with age and instability when a rupture was made in the tomb. Like a vacuum, air from the mine shaft rushed into the opened tomb and was instantly chilled. The team entered with caution as the temperature dropped considerably to freezing only a few meters into the tunnel. Designs never seen before are etched into the tunnel and are made with near perfect geometry continued like the mazes of Crete. A miner stops, he turns around and points his lantern in the dark trying to make out something.

"Did anyone follow us in?"

"No we were the only ones, why?"

"The tunnel is vibrating.. Listen."

With little time to act, the party is killed almost instantly after sighting the ancient Tomb Stalker. Slowly awakening from their slumber, disturbed after millions of years by backwater mining operations, the sensation of thriving life, and the taint of Chaos, cold metal bodies emerge from their resting place moving with complete, ominous silence. The Necron Lord awakens at last gripping his staff as he stands before his assembled army simply looking around raising his staff speaking three words.

"Death has arrived."

On schedule with normal shipments, a cargo ship exits the Warp to deliver supplies and pick up materials. From the skies, the colonies are burning and no vox signals are picked up. Upon investigating the capital they find the Governor flayed into pieces along with all the other inhabitants, buildings torn apart with no debris. The most intimidating fact to the discovery was the Governor's aide, speared to the floor by an ornate staff.

**A huge space hulk using teleporta warp technology warps in. Inside, a victorious nob, Gizzit, stands over his dead opponent, a boot planted on his chest. Gizzit's cybork eye is broken, and hanging out, but he is victorious, roaring a "Waaagh" as the boyz watching yell also. "Alright, I'ze da boss now! Krazhkull wuz good, but oi'm betta'! If any of you'z got a problem wiff' dat, you'll end up just like 'im!" Gizzit kicks the dead nob over. The mekboy cap'n looks out the bridge, to the planet. "Uh, nob-I mean boss, when you was foightin' Meggathrasha, one of ya'z hit me teleporty button and tellyported us to dis' planet!" Gizzit turns around, looking to the dead planet, a toothy grin coming from him. "Awright boyz, me first planet ta' take!"

Ork kroozas depart the space hulk, entering orbit. They land next to a small lake, letting some boyz out. They group up and begin searching in random directions. Kroozas search at a faster rate, looking for anything important.

As the Ork search, the only interesting areas seem to be the ghost town colonies. They hold some loot, and a few mining tunnels but nothing too special. Bodies are everywhere left to decay and most buildings have severe damage. The capital of the few colonies seems to be largely intact. It holds a small palace and defensive walls and can be fortified with debris from destroyed buildings and other colonies. In the center of the capital stands a tall black obelisk.

**The orkz enter the capital and loot whatever they can with no regard to what it actually might be, the ork kroozas shooting buildings here and there for fun.

Inside the city the Ork begin to take the abandoned loot, sounds coming from inside buildings lure out the curious groups of Boyz. Other Ork see shootouts inside those buildings before silence overtakes them. Upon investigation the entire groups lured out are diced apart with no enemy seen.Despite the capital colony being on daylight rotation, the sun seems to be going out. The shroud of night builds as does storm clouds. Distant thunder can be hear rolling in.

**The orkz look around in confusion. "Sumfin' ain't roight, doz' boyz got chopped up and there ain't even anybody dere! Get da' rest of da boyz, I tink dere's gonna be some 'umies behind dis!" The orkz regroup, and travel together.

As the Orks travel in their large packs, there is the distinct sound of Guardsmen Bombard artillery in the distance. The shells can be heard wailing in over the skies on various positions coming from the direction of the capital colony. The shells travelling the far distances take awhile to reach their target. Ork would no doubt jump for cover as the devastation arrived.

As the shells should impact, nothing explodes. The ground begins to vibrate as small areas begin to fall into sink holes as the psychological tactic of the attack begins to set in. Confusion would probably erupt as the smell of rot seeps out of the holes. Ghoulish terrors with blades for hands come out in packs of five to ten from inside and outside of the Ork group. The Flayed Ones swarm the Ork band slicing anything into pieces as they get near.

Lord Vetaxak stands over the cliff overlooking the slaughtered Ork, watching the Flayed Ones redecorate their metallic hides. The planet quakes with the awakening of the soulless, this Necron tomb world is fully functional.

Gizzit stands in the bridge of his ship, and smacks an ork into a pile of scrap metal. "Raaarrgh! Them shiney boy'z want some foightin', I'll giv' 'um some foightin'! I'll smash 'em ta' bitz, and den we'ze gonna make shoota's out of dem bitz! Get da boyz down dere, NOOOOW!"

From the grey silhouette in the atmosphere, many objects plunge into Tornal from it. Rockets smash into the ground, letting out floods of orks and grots who even survived the impact. Kroozas come shortly after, dropping off meks, nobs, and Gizzit. Gizzit stands much taller than the other orkz, with half a metal skull and cyborg eye, a large double barreled shoota' in one hand, and a 'uge choppa in the other. On his back is a huge banner of the 'Ammer 'Ead's symbol. He grunts and yells, smacking a mekboy and ordering him to "Git buildin'!" The mekboy promptly answers "Yes, boss!" And starts to smack grots, telling them to "Git buildin'!" The grots begin to piece together WAAAGH banners out of what they can scavenge, as Gizzit heads into the destroyed city with a quarter of his orky warband.

The Necron warriors crawl from the sands, standing up and firing their powerful gauss flayers at the nearest targets. Orks that are hit get instantly vaporized, most rounds that come the Warrior's way ricochet off their armored bodies. A lucky shot is landed into the eye socket of a Necron Warrior, slumping over. The downed Warrior gets repaired behind the advancing lines of Necron by a Tomb Spyder, the dark forces moving in a double envelopment to shove all the Ork back into the city.

Orks get vaporized left and right as more pour in. Gizzit shoves boy'z towards the Necrons, yelling,"I'ze want'a get stuck in wiff' dem Necrons, move it!" The orks push to get into close combat with the Necrons, as ork Kroozas sail overhead, firing beamy deffguns on the necron horde.

From inside the Necron swarm multiple Destroyers hover and take aim at the Kroozas, their heavy Gauss weapons crack the sky firing on the flying targets. Engaging the Necron Warriors in hand-to-hand the Ork have marginal success, the Ork choppas can cut down a few Warriors before being bayoneted by multiple Warriors. Wraiths emerge from their phase shifting, their vicious terrifying fluidity allows them to snake through the lines cutting down Ork who come its way. As Wraiths try and shove the melee attackers back the Warriors keep on the heat trying to push and slaughter the Ork with Gauss fire, moving and repairing as a single relentless force.

The Kroozas fall from the sky, one of them barreling through a group of Necron. The orkz keep fighting, Nobs now at the front lines, their chain axes revving and dangerous. One of the Nob's chests is cut by a bayonet, and he goes beserk, smashing the Necron warrior with his fists. The regular Ork boyz begin to die by the hands of the revived warriors and the Wraiths, as Gizzit pushes the attack, he grabs a wraith by it's arms and roars, ripping it in half. Using himself as a battering ram, he braces his left shoulder forward into the Necron horde, his right hand firing his double barreled shoota as he charges.

The Necron lines disappear, phasing out of the battle.

Smoke clears momentarily as the Necron Wariors reappear fifty yards down from the Orks, a hail of rapid Gauss fire comes hailing into the Orks. As a counter to the inevitable charge, Flayed Ones erupt from the ground laced in an energy field to act as a buffer.

**The orkz take heavy ranged fire, and begin to run away. "Gaahh! We don't gotz enuff' dakka, ruuuun!" The orkz turn tail and retreat back to their camp to recuperate.

The Gauss storm continues to rain on the Orks making a hasty retreat. Necron Warriors marching over the dead bodies, their fallen comrades getting up and continuing the battle of extermination. After few minutes the Gauss fire slows as the Necron break chase when the Ork retreat into camp.

Gizzit angrily smashes an ork into the ground back at their camp. Yelling,"Raarrghh! Get da' space hulk ta' throw rokks on dem necron boyz!" A mekboy runs to an ork kommunicashuns tent. Up in space, the space hulk's beamy guns start firing asteroids orbiting around it into the atmosphere, aiming for the city.

**Before the struggle on the planet below even began, Orks had been going missing aboard the Space Hulk. Now, increasing numbers of them have vanished with almost no trace, but for their blood-stained gear left lying where they once stood.

The Necron attacks seem to of stopped, there is a silence across the planet. Off in the distance is what looks like storm clouds from the Ork camp. As the cloud nears with astonishing speed there is a loud buzzing sound that begins to block out all other noises. A scarab swarm descends onto the Ork.

The orkz in the camp are torn apart by the scarab swarm, as orks are cut up and chewed away by the little mechanical creations. Shootas, flamers, and large 'ammas are swung at the swarms. A deff dread swings it's arms erratically and blasts it's flamers into an approaching swarm.

A cluster of asteroids breaks through the atmosphere, impacting the crumbling city.

Back on the space hulk, a kommando nob lumbers about with his squad, killing lone orks silently and stealing their teefs. The nob notices a trail of blood in the dank hall. He lumbers up to it, running a stubby finger on it and bringing it up to his eye. He emits a silent growl in his throat. "Dis ain't roight.." The kommando squad goes invisible, as they silently search the space hulk.
