William Sier

William Sier was born a bastard child of a Scholar at the Kainhold College until his twelfth birthday, in which, his Mother would reveal to him his father. Until said birthday, William would live a quaint life inside the college walls, starting to be educated and put to work by his Mother at age Eight. He longed for the play of the common children, and seldom got it, other than sneaking off to the basement every now and again. No other children, sadly, would be there to accompany William in his play, so he learned to entertain himself.

Upon reaching a new level in his maturity, he was permitted to go into town, and thus, revealed a secret. His Father, was a vagabond, and a thief. Notorious in the town, but just another punk, in all of Oldenland. He wasn't really anyone special. Even so, William sought him out, eager to learn of his father. He would of course, find his father in jail. Serving a small sentence for stealing from the market. He would at first, reject his son, not wanting to buy into the trappings of Fatherhood, then, use him to steal from the marketplace for him, knowing he wouldn't soon be harshly punished by any guard, being just a boy. After four successful steals, the young William was caught red-handed by a guard, and Marched right back up to the college, to face his mother's punishment.

He was placed under even stricter policy, now only being able to go into town while accompanied by his mother. However, if that was going to stop a young boy from spending time with his Father, then that young boy would not be William. He began to pick up the art of dissapearing in a crowd, using his small stature to his advantage. He thought it funny, making his mother furious, and fulfilling his rebellious side by spending time with his Father, who he was forbidden to see. He would be used by his father for many things after that. Being his "dog" at the gambling fights, which would change from house to house, stealing, becoming a scapegoat for him when approached by loansharks, (As a side note; he got very good at fake crying.), and, most importantly, teaching him to pick the locks of money-boxes in the local stores while his father would distract them, which was good practice for William, a learning thief. His father didn't fool him, however, William knew he didn't really care about him. He also knew he was being used, but-..Something, just couldn't really tear William from his Father. He wanted to know more about him.

Until his seventeenth year, when his father, would vanish with the hot summer sun in the fall. Leaving only a note about how, "He'd made him rolling in money, and he has to go burn some of it off in Imperia." William felt a surge of mixed emotions; sadness, anger, and shock. Two nights later, in one of his mother's cloaks, at the twilight hour, he would pay a carriage-driver twenty shillings, to take him to Imperia. After a week of searching from bar to bar, alley to alley, he would find his Father dead. Stabbed seven times in the chest. The rats had a snack off his face as well. He would take his father's coat from his body, the rough leather frock, and put it on himself, tears in his eyes. As he returns, he is met by his mother, who would then, confine him once more to the College.

For two years, William would sit in sorrow, his only friend and companion, lost. Killed like an animal in some slum over probably nothing. Then, his mother, that bitch. She just wanted him to never leave. To study hard, to learn about all sorts of useless shit that he'll never get to use, forever. He felt hatred for her. Figuring her jealous of his ability. His intellect mixed with the street smarts she'd never had, and never would have. He decided to become a Mercenary. A soldier for hire, never tied down to anything. It'd pay, and it'd be much better than sitting on his ass in some college, letting his abilities go to waste. So, he would sneak out of the college that night, taking with him the clothes on his back, and a few shillings. Young, invincible, and full of rebellious spirit.
