Black Race: Raven. Age: Seven. Birthplace. Occitan. History Black was born into the service of a wizard. Aside from carrying his mail, his ravens were also one of his favorite pets and test subjects. He would often subjugate them to seemingly asinine and odd experiments, just to see what would happen. And so came the turn for black to be subjugated to his experiments. The wizard was going to bind a minor imp into the crow, along with warding spells to prevent the imp's evil nature to shift the birds attitude too much. The experiment was a success. The wizard as exact, and soon ran a regiment of tests on the bird to determine his abilities. The bird possessed the ability to meld into shadows, while not invisible he was rather hard to spot. The bird also experienced a large boost in intelligence, allowing him to grasp the rudiments of language. A faint demonic aura eminated from the bird, and his eyes turned blue.
Attributes. Intelligence(Relative). <||||||||||> He is incredibly intelligent for a bird, possessing the cognitive abilities of a five or six year old. Agility. <||||||||||> The enhanced energies of the imp give him increased agility and maneuverability. Shadowmeld. <||||||||||> His ability to melt into the shadows is that of a novice. As he ages it will progress until he is invisible in even a dim environment.

Plus, there's no rules that state that someone can't RP something as simple as a bird- and he's far from useless, he has been creating fun and interesting RP for the whole lot of us.

I always found it easier to deal with rping with an animal in a less restrictive setting in regard to your dimensions and freedom of movement, and the overall available space. We used to have a degree of freedom with that in the past, but no one has bothered to include flight into our script, or player nocollision, and not having those makes it hard for a small animal to really seem "small" in a group. It should be able to move around freely and find it's way on to people's shoulders, etc. That kind of thing.
My issues have nothing to do with the roleplay, just the medium. As long as it doesn't turn into retarded animal rp, that is.

Didn't Ruta decline this though? I suppose let Pat decide as well, although I'm with him. It seems sort of useless to start making pet characters now. In fact, someone else tried to make a raven because of it, and it's just getting terrible.

Wasn't he originally created just for someone to kill him so someone could toss out an excuse for badluck or something? I remember everybody was either trying to kill it or get it out, but badluck was the only difference between the actions really.

I still don't understand why everyone goes up in arms about this crow. It's a crow, and yes, while it can say a few choice words.. It's a crow, I don't see how it's damaging the server in anyway like people seem to believe.
And it's not a pet. Yeah, Martyn and Kurt treat him like one - but he still freaks out and pecks the shit out of Martyn every time he tries to touch him, he just comes back to the bar for scraps.
