- Each Empire can have fleets, armies, and technology, but also must have a Flagship. The Flagship represents the best your Empire has to offer. Top-of-the-line technology, a highly-trained crew, etc.
The Flagship will naturally be the first to enter into any situation in Dominion, so any RP events will solely be done with Flagships. After the event is over, the "victor", if there is any, is assumed to have mobilized its military to that location, and direct confrontation would be unwise.
If your Flagship is heavily damaged, you will want to leave the event. If your Flagship is destroyed, you will be out of the current event, and unable to participate in the next event. You will have to wait until the event after, with a new Flagship and crew. This may not seem like much, but each event and mission carries a lot of weight, and repeated losses of a Flagship puts strain on your Empire and you yourself.
If said event does not involve any military action, than a Flagship would again be the natural choice to send in, as its crew should be ideal representatives of their race.
Any rewards from events, such as technology, money, etc. can be applied to your flagship, and possibly adapted into your fleet. How these rewards benefit you is up to the person running the event.
To sum up, most RP you will participate in in Dominion will be you RPing your Flagship's crew, and the ship itself. This will hopefully make things easier to manage on a Role-Play level, and makes some degree of sense.
To maintain some level of believability, there will also be a simplistic Fleet Management system. Each Empire has a Fleet, that's added to or replenished by planets.
Planets are given numbers to indicate class. The higher the number, the more abundant the planet is in natural resources, and the more desirable it is. Some Empires use different technology and resources; this number represents an overall average of abundancy for every single potential resource.
After a Real-Life week, that planet will have developed a colony belonging to whatever Empire claimed it. A number of units (A "unit" can represent one powerful ship or many weak ships, but all units are of the same strength) equal to the planet's number will be produced every day.
Fleets can be sent to other planets, and will take various times to reach them based on distance on the map (MAP NEEDED)
Large fleet battles, between many ships / units, will be handled similarly to Risk. This is because managing dozens of ships can be a tad overwhelming. Each player rolls dice. Each roll is deducted from the opponent's fleet, until a fleet is completely annihilated, or until someone retreats. It's a good idea to launch large and overwhelming surprise attacks, but luck can save you if you're outnumbered.
Smaller fleet battles, however, can be handled by RP. Ex: Two capital ships, or small wings of three or so ships. Ultimately, it's up to the players to agree on which fights they want to RP or not.

- If a capital ship takes on a capital ship, the battle will not use rolls, but player skill like the server when in combat. Most ships have ship to ship fighters, and will have to maneuver ICly for a realistic .

Yes it's a Star Wars one but you're a jack-off and actually care. - Code:
-
Margin for map = 1 Inch is 300,000,000 miles Use estimation skills. Traveling that one inch is equivalent to a single player post other than your own. - Code:
-
Planet Ratings 3: A naturally uninhabitable planet, usually rich in metals. Mines are allowed here along with the smallest chance of finding Alien technology
2: A habitable planet suitable for a colony.
1: A suitable planet for home worlds, a possible space-station location, and an overall strategic key point. A colony can be made here also.
Extra info: Each planet event has a reward. It will either be a scientific reward/discovery, a colony spot or something interesting. After the planet is conquered/shared it becomes a possible attack target for other players. To add to this, alliances are another way to unlock rewards and planets. - Code:
-
Colonies One entire colony on a class 1 planet = 1 Armada = 40 small ships, or 10 larger ships lesser to the Capital ship. One entire colony on a class 2 planet = 1 Armada = 20 small ships, or 5 larger ships lesser to the Capital ship. One shared colony (Alliances) = One-half of production In the case of a class 2 planet, shared, two larger ships can be made, and one smaller if you choose to have five larger ships. Most of the time large armies won't be necessary if you know how to use your capital ship. Keep track of colonies, simple addition and subtraction gets you an army pretty much. Starting planets count as a class 1 and an instant army that can be written about.

| 300,000,000 light years is longer than 300 Milky Way galaxies. Even with FTL travel, it would take millions of years to travel that far in space. Just cut maybe 6 zeroes off that and everything will be good. | |
