Long-range scanners detect a massive cloud of a substance entirely unknown to any race. Whatever the substance is, it puts off large amounts of energy. Unfortunately, this anomaly is far away, in a void between star systems. Regardless, this may warrant further investigation...

** In route from the Farlax sector to the Deep Core sector, they drop out of hyperspace to read the logging. Seeing how a new power source is an interest, they turn about and engage their hyperdrive. They plan to come out of subspace early to use sublight engines to get closer.

*** The Sewonain heavy cruiser AURION 1 picks up readings from the anomaly, and after a quick briefing with headquarters, they load up men, vehicles, and ammunition and ten jump into hyperspace, heading towards the anomaly.

** Dropping out of hyperspace, the Eternal Freedom engages their stealth mode. They engage sublight engines and begin to move in from their far off distance coming in at a curve. They scan the area and man their stations.

**A purple wormhole opens up, the Hidden Blade coming out quickly as the wormhole closes, the blade turns on it's stealth systems and engages it's conventional engines, pulling to a safe distance to observe.

Vincent Dadoni stands over a robot tapping away at a computer.

"Alright, Bolts, scan the area, tell me when you get something interesting."

The robot beeps, tapping faster.

The ship's guns are manned, the criminal crew almost too eager to shoot someone.

A droning robotic voice speaks to Dadoni "NO VISIBLE TAR-GETS, LIEUTENANT."

"Alright good, scan that energy source real good for me, Bolts."

The robot beeps again.

** Detecting a space opening, and a ship separate from each other, they stay silent. The Konnh ship creeps in planning to raise shields at the first signs of radiation or harmful particles. They also launch a probe, sending it at the energy source.

** The slicer robot does quick sweeps along the direction of the energy source, does it detect the probe?

The slicer robot beeps, zooming a camera on the probe.

"LIEUTENANT, PROBE DETEC-TED. ORIGIN UNKNOWN."

Dadoni steps up behind the robot again.

"Alright, we're not alone out here, tell the men to man a camera device or get out on the bridge with something with lenses. Bolts, try to gain access to that probe, and see what it says about the energy source."

"AFFIR-MATIVE."

The slicer robot taps away quickly, trying to access the probe's feedback results while the men use cameras around the ship to search for a possible ship the probe was deployed from.

** The Eternal Freedom is too small of a ship to be seen over a long distance, but the Sewonian ship may be seen. The probe has not retrieved any data yet, so it can not be traced.

Two ships from the Turnal Alliance warp in. A J'Tar Vir'Sis, and an unidentified ship that would seem to be a sort of science vessel. The science vessel launches several probes that begin running scans of the area, while the Vir'Sis guards it.

The energy source can not be classified by scanners, but it is extremely potent. Minute particles, though much larger than atoms, seem to radiate this energy. The entire cloud is more than a lightyear across, and these particles seem to be ordered in a pattern, suggesting this cloud is not natural...

** The Eternal Freedom detects the Turnal Alliance ships, powering down its stealth system. Herzeleid sends a friendly message to them along with ideas on the sector.

At the Konnh probe, it stops getting close to a free drifting particle emitting the energy. A small arm is extended and grabs the particle with a net like attachment. As it is pulled inside, it powers up again and engages its thrusters back towards the Eternal Freedom.

** Dadoni sits in his chair, watching the scene in boredom, swiveling around to Bolts.

"Alright, let's just get out of here, Bolts, take us to these coordinates."

Dadoni specifies some coordinates on a datapad, as Bolts types them in, a wormhole opens and takes the Hidden Blade out.

***The AURION I exits hyperspace, a few hundred kilometres off of the anomaly. Scanners, shields, and automatic weaponry immediatly power up.

"This is the AURION I of the Sewonian empire. Requesting indentification from all other ships in the area. We will not take hostile actions unless hostile actions are taken towards us. We are here to escort a scientific expidition to the energy anomaly. Interference will be greatly frowned upon."

As the various ships scan it, more information is revealed. The cloud is drifting through space at a speed approaching light speed. Its massive size is what it makes it seem stationary. The molecules it is composed of are discovered to be very complex, and the pattern they are arranged in escapes the understanding of a living mind. As the ships near, the energy coming from the cloud intensifies.

** The Eternal Freedom backs off after picking up the particle. It gets to a safe distance, responding to the Sewonians.

"This is Captain Herzelied of the Konnh ship the Eternal Freedom. We're here to study the energy.. Hmm. Standby."

A few scientists on board the Eternal Freedom come up with an idea. The channel is opened to the Turnal Alliance ships and the Sewonians.

"We have some scientists here who believe this isn't some anomaly. They believe it may actually be a living organism with energy as its body. We encourage you to not get too close or fire weapons. We don't know what this thing could do."

The Turnal Alliance science vessel hails the other ships, its translator having an impressive command of their languages.

"We of the Turnal Alliance share this theory. These particles we are detecting may in fact be cells of some sort, but composed of unidentified particles of energy instead of atoms. It also seems to react to our presence, but this may be due to our ships' hulls disrupting the energy field. This cloud may also be a power generator or storage device created by an ancient precursor race, which might still be guarded by some automated security system. That, too, would explain the power fluctuation."

"The energy this cloud provides would be potent and invaluable, but it would be dangerous to attempt to harness this power. There are many questions that need to be answered. This warrants more scans."

"Indeed, we'll see what our probe can pick up without hurting this creature or setting off an alarm. We suggest raising shield just in case of some sort of attack."

** The Konnh probe engages thrusters every so often, letting itself drift into the cloud as it scans on all wavelengths.

***The Sewonians, having remained quiet until now suddenly send out signals to the other two ships.

"AURION I copies. Our scientists seem to have fallen ill due to inexperience of space travel. We will stay and provide any military support we can, in case this really is a being and it responds in a hostile manner. Repeat; We will provide military support in case of an attack. Over."

The cruiser's shields flicker a bit, and their automated weaponry twirl around in a frenzy, scanning for any targets in the database.

** The Eternal Freedom receives a message, the probe floats back to the ship being loaded in. They send a message to the ships.

"We're going to have to pull out, we've got orders to return home for some much needed upgrades. See you around."

The message ends at the Eternal freedom whirls around engaging its hyperdrive and bolts off into the open gate.
