Well canvas weighs a whole 1lb and why not it could be used for plenty of things and as for that stuff well the candal could be used for my lantern and the the shovel is for digging i mean its like you think a cleric is just there for heals and he does nothing else i mean really now o and the letter stuff maybe i make letter and send them to people * i got a spell later on that can instantly send a letter to someone.

why in the name of my balls would you write a letter in the middle of the wilderness, and if you write it in town you could just walk over to the store and buy the stuff for a few gold

and the candle for the lantern i can understand, even though the lantern itself's useless when you have TORCHES

and the shovel, fine, i'll give you that, but do note that it's like 1 meter and wouldn't fit in your pack, so you'd have to find some other way to carry it around

Hey Mack i have a lantern to eaither
A use when my torchs run out, aka the wood is to charred or the pitch on it is useless
B If where in a cave i could leave it behind so if we have taken some weird route we would know that we are going the right way

As for my shovel well from most pics of people that are like wilderness explorers theres a thing on the side of a pack that holds the shovel its mearly a few straps of leather or cloth to hold it in place simple as that

As for wrighting a letter i would only do it in the wilderness and say if we are in trouble aka starveing stranded etc. i could send a letter to a near bye town with where we MIGHT be so we atleast have a chance of being found
