Many newcomers to Olden have shown one particular interest; being inde-fucking-structible or a god-like character on their first day.
This... Sadly... Will never, ever, ever, ever happen. Why? Because the stronger the ability or gear you're applying for is, the more respect and trust you'll need from the entire community to get it accepted.
Applicating for a magic sword or a spell or even a special character sounds simple enough... But it's a little more complex than that. Applications need to be elaborate, clean looking and most important of all reasonable. Though this is fantasy roleplay, no one will want a magic-tiger-warrior-from-space running around town.
Let's go over the basics...
Step. 1
"Roleplaying"
At the very least, you need to roleplay a little before applicating for something special. Get to know the RP, briefly read over the lores and atleast study on what you think your application will include.
It's always a good idea to roleplay getting your gear or learning your skills before applying for them, it shows both your roleplay capabilities and how responsible you are in the first place.
It doesn't hurt to make friends around as well, gain people's trust which will ultimately give you much better chances at getting your application accepted.
Step. 2
"Making your application look good"
This is the second most important thing you can do. Dress your application up, use colors, bolds, italics and creative writting
(not to mention spellcheck) to make your stuff look proffesional. It's really easy and guaranteed to make you look good and encourage others to read through your application.
When writting your application, it's always a good idea to elaborate on details and make sure the community will know exacly what you want and why you want it. Being vague or dull wont cut it...
When your done, don't forget to click 'Preview' and read over your own work, make sure it makes sense and that spellchecks are at a minimum.
Step. 3
"Being accepted/denied"
Being denied for a special character or trait is something that will most likely happen on your first try.. But don't lose hope. Read over other people's applications and see what makes theirs pop out and seem acceptable. Although, I strongly encourage you not to commit any plagerism.
Being accepted on the otherhand, happens when administration accepts your applicaion and moves your thread to the "ACCEPTED" folder. This means you're ready to go out and roleplay with your new stuff-- But do not, ever think you can abuse your newly gained skills and get away with it... Being strong or experienced does not grant you the ability to powergame or metagame. You will never be "The best", and this is because everyone in Olden is given a chance to excell in different things. Gods are kept for admins to control.
If anyone has anything to add, do so.
