Dominion Rules

The rules to your empire! These will make it fair for your empire, and others, to play!

1. No POWERGAMING
We all hate it, and despise Drakeson for it. Your ship's technology and abilities must be clearly laid out. You are free to use them as creatively as you like, so long as it's within reason. But, most importantly, there will be no super weapons of death unless in some special event like case.

2. Minimal OOC spam.
Keep as much of your posts ICly as possible when interacting in a roleplay thread.

3. DETAIL!
Make your posts detailed! No vague descriptions of what's happening.

5. Plagiarizing
This is a major no no, you can use empires from other games, but be creative and get new names and such. Remember to give credit to original writers for what you base that information off of.

6. Two Posts Per Day
When in a group environment (Multiple empires in one thread), you can only post two posts per day before having to wait a day to start again. It allows everyone to remain on the same page. If It is only one person at an event, they can go as fast as they like with the person running the event.

7. Capital Ship Based
This is not "Lets have ships come from nowhere and back us up". The game is based around your capital ship, and your ability to use that one ship. The ship may have addons such as fighters and away teams which can be easily roleplayed. Focus the game around your capital ship, and not invasions and land battles. Large ship to ship battles, such as wars, must use the dice roll tool to try and take advantage of the enemy, or progress in the fight. Capital ship versus capital ship can be roleplayed by posts, and not dice roll.

8. Technology
A.

In Dominion, whoever is the most advanced and tactically sound wins. New technology is gained via events and your roleplay. For an example, if you are a rail gun using race and want to move up, some how gain that technology. Theft, capture, trade, maybe espionage or scientifically modifying technology you've found.
-You can research things by making a semi-informative news report then waiting about a real life week to get it. This does not apply to ship upgrades only things used liked soldiers, aircraft, etc.

B.

In the new 50 year advancement, people who had empires before it's posting in the news section are allowed to upgrade ships and units. All others who join in and begin roleplay start out with original, low tech and must upgrade it one way or another. That may be by war, trade, or alliances as always.

9. Retrogaming
It is important you try and not retrogame technology. Come to the table with basic technology and not just "POOF BITCHES I GOT DEM TECHNOLOGIES". This way it keeps it fair.

Assuming the 10-foot, blue aliens finally pulled their thumbs out of their asses and used the resources they're sitting on, and expanded to space. But remember rule 5.

The original idea was from Versatile Roleplay. Comrade and Cookie's old rp community. This has a bit more seriousness and starting restrictions than their version, which allowed you to play as penguins or something ridiculous.. Drakeson still powergamed there too.

can't we have a small detailed fleet with the capital ship that can't be reinforced in battle?
it seems kind of illogical to have empires posing JUST their capital ships against each other, and limiting posts makes it kind of boring, can't we do a steam chat instead of a two post per day bullshit that will take 2 weeks to finish.
