[DEVELOPMENT] Olden Model Pack

Spent my day browsing garrysmod.org and compiling this. It's got roughly thirty models.

Olden Model Addon <-- Don't download, it's outdated.

This isn't official, just a compilation of stuff that I think people might like, and stuff that's better than the existing Master Chief armor. It's about 100MB. (Seriously. I hate people using CP models and Master Chief Armor.)

What does it have? Monsters, insects, guards, zombies, and even a gorilla.













Ultimately, I compiled this for a bit of practice at streamlining the process of getting models. It's not official, you don't have to download it, and the models aren't currently on Olden, and I doubt they'll be used. Just a submission for the admins.[/center]

No, there are a tonne of others - some more 'monstery' ones. Quite a few are low-resolution, however.

Any that have robes?

Nah, there's two STALKER models for that... though I didn't look...

Sure - what exactly do you want, though? If you want to view the models, you can download the pack and view it in SP, or use modelmanipulator_mmmodel <MODEL> on-server to try them out.

Downloading the pack now. But I'd like to see the variety of human playermodels. That's plenty of armoured fellows, are there any humanoids equipped with lighter clothing, like a cloak or normal clothing?

No - I haven't made custom models, still mastering that.

HOWEVER, I think I have a hooded female model I could add.

I myself would like content to be quite a bit under 100mb, but that's just me. I figure we should look through the models and see which ones we want on the server beforehand.

That's the beauty of it. They don't go on the server.

I don't get that whole non upload thing myself, I still get errors when I look at someone with them non server-side skins.

If you can get it to work it'd be brilliant.

And if we could somehow get more, as Psyche said, non armoured fellows then good lord imagine the possibilities.

I myself think the first 3 would be fine for armored guys, seems to cover most niches, heavy, medium 'n light protection.

I think the most logical explanation is that everyone will be too busy gawking, though...

Okay, problem #1 with the errors is that some models that I haven't included are still being called for by lua scripts.

It doesn't MATTER, though, but I'll try to fix it - the models that work should work. Psyche, you have me on Steam, we can test the models sometime. For now, it's just a fiddly job of finding every reference to models I tested, but didn't include.

Gah. 100 mb? As I've stated before, a large content pack is not something you want to download whenever you try out a community unless it's really popular. Olden isn't, and thusly it will turn new people away since, honestly, who would download a bunch of models just to try out a server? Sure, they might like it once they get in, but it's still a big enough turn-off to make some people stop joining.


And 100 megs would take like an hour on my connection. So I'm not even sure -I- would download this.
