OOC: Shields don't have holes. If they did, they'd close, or be down completely. Engineering being hit would kill engines, but not shields.

The SEVERN takes multiple hits, the ship bursting into violent flames which roast the pilots of any ships close by. Mass destruction is suffered all around, squadrons of Federation fighters shooting missiles and blowing up all around. The SEVERN's shields flash twice, and then drop completely, as the commander orders a full on collision with the Legion's main ship. Skyhooks drop through the planets atmosphere at dangerous speeds, some of them blowing up violently, sending troopers dropping into parts of the planet. Behind the Skyhooks, ten squadrons of five fighters drop through the layers of the planet, instantly finding targets. They move in to bomb the Legion assault force.

** A radar officer speaks up "Carrier ship moving in at fast speeds, speed and inertia calculations dictate it is trying to ram us." Yrkkz'Ca'Trok points his razor sharp claw at the navigations CO "All power to movement, swing across it's momentum!" He darts to his communications array. "All cruisers, direct all fire on the Federation Carrier!" The cruiser's main guns ignore the fighters, coming around to give withering fire on the bare hull of the FIS SEVERN, they also power up their engines, moving away at a smaller pace as the carrier isn't aiming for them. The L.G.A Messenger of Light's propulsion systems light up, sending it moving ahead steadily, gradually picking up speed as it tries to swing out of the carrier's charge.

Back on the planet, the 5 LNA-5's AA guns and the 10 HSUs pick up fast moving signatures, explosive flak rounds rip out of the water's surface at high speeds, pulse rounds hiss through the waves and aim for the fighters and skyhooks. The flak rounds explode on remote by computer calculations of where the fighters are calculated to be, sending large fragments everywhere. The T'Ack'Mul on land keep hidden, hoping for the bombers to think they're all underwater.

The nineteen JR-1s give up on working on the shields, instead flying down and attacking the Skyhooks as they fall, firing on them as they fall through the atmosphere in an attempt to destroy them as soon as possible.

Far more interesting are the sounds that occur on ground level, as the second JR-1 encampment begins to kick into action. With the thousand Engineers already on the ground and patrolling, loud thumps and bangs are heard as it begins to power up, fusion generators powering massive hydraulic presses and smelting cores, a small factory starting work. And within a few minutes of the first piece of ore entering, even more TY-7 drones start coming out - with the refined efficiency of the factories, a new and expendable TY-7 is built close to every second.

**A hyperspace signature is detected to open on the far side of the planet.

The two large warships stop firing, and redirect their course towards the Turnal Alliance ships. As soon as they gain range, they open up on the battleship with concentrated fire on a single area of the shields to drain it quickly.

On the planet, the small fighters from the unknown aliens blast over the troops, scanning. When they fly over, their engines emit a loud screeching like noise.

The planet-side Nal'Sis'Teto, though few in number, easily locate and track the alien ships. All manner of electronic warfare begins, as the small fighters attempt to hack into the alien fighters, disrupting key systems. Simultaneously, the wing of fighters tries to get firing solutions. Their 3,000 RPM neutron miniguns let fly with armor-piercing rounds, and homing missiles try to lock onto the ships. Should they hit, they would be aimed at the engines or other critical systems.

Vero takes a pounding, and its many guns are brought to bear on the advancing ships. Keeping its heavily reinforced front shields facing the enemy, its main guns fire powerful proton beams. These would destabilize the shields and begin to slowly melt away exterior armor.

Should any of the beams land a hit, dozens of missiles would automatically fire, programmed to seek out the weakened areas of the shields and strike the hull, causing as much damage as possible. Several soldiers also use remote fly-by-wire systems to guide missiles to their target.

The Kar'Sis, protected by the Vero, attempts a jam of all enemy systems, and also a massive hacking attempt on enemy ships and fighters. Its jam safeguards friendly ships from such attacks, at least for now.

They increase firing intensity as they come around to fire at the rear engines of the battleship. The proton beam fluctuates the shields, as the ship hit tries to compensate.

Vero First Officer: [Turnal'var: Commander, their computer systems are completely impenetrable. They're vastly different from our own. They're attempting a counter-hack, as well.]

Vero Comander: [Do whatever you can to stop them.]

Vero and Durj, working in unison, manage to block out most of the hacks, but are unable to fight back on that front. Meanwhile, missiles continue to pound the enemy ships at weak points in their shields, making every attempt to strike the hull, and proton beams continue to pour fire into both of the ships' shields. The 16 Nal'Sis'Teto that are in space approach the enemy fleet.

Vero maneuvers deftly, keeping its front facing the enemy. Durj initiates remote shielding, reinforcing the overall shields of the Vero and the Nal'Sis'Teto, but leaving it almost unshielded.

The massive ship is hardly changed by the missiles, but two batteries are taken out. They scan their enemies again, detecting the increased power flux and change targets. Opening fire on the other Turnal Alliance ships.

The Durj's shields take a few hits and start to fluctuate and flicker. Vero quickly places itself between the enemy ships and the Kar'Sis, distributing its newly replenished shields towards all parts of the ship equally, instead of just the front. Missiles continue to fire, but are no longer backed by its main guns.

The 16 recalled Nal'Sis'Teto finally arrive, and swarm around the enemy ships in two squadrons of 8. They fire missiles and armor-piercing neutron rounds, trying in vain to do some damage. At best, they serve as a bothersome distraction.

** The damaged warship's shields fail. Missiles and rounds puncture the hull as it begins to drift. It fires a last few rounds before going silent and heading towards the planet. The other warship focuses fire on the Kar'Sis as it's bay opens. A swarm of fifteen or so fighters shoot from the ship at high velocity and begin to track the attacking fighters.

On the planet, another battle group of fighters begin flying over troops, some being shot down by fire or engaging their transport beams and begin sucking up exposed troops. Loaded fighters break off and head for space.

Out of the sky, the armored figures and the pod land near the Turnal Alliance base. The Vir'Teto, five in all, fan out, and ready their electropulse cannons.

The large pod suddenly breaks apart, and a Vir'Nal'Mek begins to deploy. A Tet'Mek hovers out from under it, beginning to unfold itself as well.

In the air, the 8 Nal'Sis'Teto shoot at enemy fighters, but find themselves outmaneuvered. The ground base's fortifications and shields take damage from the attacking aircraft. Few Nala'varo are taken by the beams, as most are safely within the perimeter.

In space, the Kar'sis is pummeled, shields failing, and one of its fighter bays erupts in flames, the metal disintegrating. Vero moves quickly to shield Durj from further damage, but its own shields are ready to buckle.
