Greater Good being using the relic in a number of ways and/or setting up an outpost.

Sorry to barge in, given my far less than complete knowledge of the 40k lore, but if the Tau were that willing to let such a potentially powerful device into the hands(claws?) of the Tyranids and the myriad forces of chaos, I don't figure they'd do too well. Furthermore, I can't see them being very reluctant to kill large numbers of either of the above.

At the cost of how many of their own?

Guys...do you think there might be already too many people on the planet right now...I mean logically the Tau could wait for one force to...beat the others and then they drop in and fight them, I am just suggesting this so there is not as much cluster fuck concerning posts/actions.

The Imperium is not on the planet yet...hell I don't even think anyone is playing them.

I don't think the Tau would care, either. It doesn't matter what race gets their hands on the relic, they're all fighting each other, and not the Tau. The Tau just want to be ignored, expand, and spread the Greater Good peacefully, if at all possible.
