OA seems to be creating characters faster than I eat pretzels. Which is pretty damn fast.

What She/He means is, On the inside, Everyone has this psychotic or hungry thing inside of them. And that thing needs pain, to live inside.
So She/He is saying, Pain is the thing everyone knows they need, but they press it away, until it grows, and grows, and grows.
Also, He/She is NOT a Drunkard.
