**The green warp portal fluctuates, and a green burst of dark energy emits from it. The injured plague marine's damaged and broken armor is covered by a thick, scar tissue material. The plague marines stand out of cover, firing at the Kaskrin squads. Lasers fire ignites dead skin, as cursed plague bolts rip through armor and infect Kaskrins with a lethal disease. The the Kaskrin squads begin to back out of the warehouse, as the portal brings forth more abominations of Nurgle. Cyclopes plague bearers lumber outward, chanting the endless diseases of nurgle, a cloud of flies and death heavier than that of a plague marine following them.

The kaskrins throw grenades and concentrate fire on the plague bearers as they advance, but the squad leader calls a retreat, and they run to their chimeras, pulling away from the warehouse.

The warp spews more creations of the Lord of All. It fluctuates heavily again, and a dark power exits from it. The great plague champion Oberon Ixiator, the most diseased and hideous of all the plague marines. He carries a chain fist dipped in the very essence of Nurgle, a plasma pistol, and large, slow power armor. With a rasp, he speaks to all his followers. "Weee.. are the will of the Plague God.."

The warehouse begins to crumble and decay from the overpowering presence of Nurgle, as the Daemons of nurgle accompanied by Plague Marines spread His Will.

**The planet goes into chaos as Imperial Guard mass recruit those who are loyal, and execute any who show heresy. Anti aircraft guns fire on spores falling from the sky, as the Imperial legions mobilize to track down the spores and contain the influence of the Ruinous Powers, specifically the warehouse district.

Those who escape the mass executions are accepted into Nurgle's legion. Pale and sickly, the heretics are armed with anything from swords to imperial lasguns. They have been spared by Nurgle's diseases, and will fight to the death for Him, since they no longer fear death. The Imperial guard has largely abandoned the lower areas of the spire and is making a stronghold in the upper sections. The lower abandoned areas are left to the Tyranids and Chaos.

** The Tyrant and all other Tyranids on the planet begin conform to one spot...a reclamation pool. The hive Tyrant steps into the pool and begins to slowly sink into it. The other Tyranids begins to follow suit with the Tyrant. After each Tyranid has sank into the sludge it begins to recede somewhere deep in the city.

Valkries swoop in on infested areas of the city, bombing groups of heretics, daemons, and plague marines. The plague legion advances through the lowers of the hive, infecting the strong and killing the weak. The Imperial Guard begins to flame bodies on the upper levels and kills anyone who has any signs of infection.

The guard has sealed all entrances to the upper levels save for one huge fortified gate used to send attack parties into the lower areas of the hive.

The marching of plague bearers and swarms of nurglings overtake the abandoned lowers of the city quickly, taking more and more heretics into Nurgle's legion. The warp portal back in the warehouse is provided with a few hundred heretic worshipers to keep it open. Their diseased bodies and chanting show their devotion to Nurgle.

** A relatively small group of nurgle-worshipping cultists wanders through the deeper portions of the city. As they cross a bridge between two buildings, a strange clicking is heard. The air grows quiet, but suddenly the silence is broken by the sound of fleshborers. The heretics are perforated and eaten alive from the inside out, as hormagaunts and genestealers emerge from beneath the bridge, clambering over the railing to ambush and tear apart the intruders.

Having been seemingly absent for nearly two weeks, the Shining Fleet emerges from the Warp, looking as battered as ever. Though much of the damage to the fleet and to the Chapter has been repaired, the scars of the cataclysmic battle of Corleonis still remain.

"We are the Space Marines of the Imperial Swords Chapter. We have come for a much-needed resupply, though we can offer military assistance, should you require it."

"This is Lord General Fulke, we will give you as much supplies and support as you need. As it is the lowers of the hive are infested by Chaos and Tyranids. The tyranids have not yet appeared in force since their spores have landed, but we are struggling to keep the Chaos in 'their side' of the hive. So far the upper levels are contained, all heretics have been executed and all fit to fight have been recruited, but we are not ready for a counter offensive, I would gladly accept your help."

The great plague champion Ixiator watches over the warp and it's worshipers, when his second in command approaches him. He speaks, pausing each moment for a wheeze or a cough "Great Chaaaampion Ixiator, we have reports of Tyranid attacks in the lowers of the city.. What is your order?" The plague champion stands still for a moment, then turns to the marine. "Infect the Hive." The plague marine nods, turning away.

Plague marines, Nurglings, and Plaguebearers march in force into the lowers of the city.

"We are grateful. We shall then assist in the planet's defense."

The Space Marines deploy in greater force than before, quickly setting up a forward base on a Hive Spire. The Chapter's Techmarines set up Tarantulas and other fortifications; three Devastator squads take up defensive positions, armed with heavy bolters, plasma cannons, and lascannons, respectively; and Tactical Squads perform vigilant patrols of the perimeter, armed with Plasma Rifles, Frag Grenades, and Flamers.

Two Scout Squads are deployed via drop-pod into the bowels of the Hive, to do recon on its lower sections. The Scouts chosen for this mission are more seasoned than the typical neophytes, and have experience in Hive Worlds such as this. Consequently, they are highly alert and cautiously avoid danger stemming from any of the countless ambush sites and hiding places. The Scouts are all equipped with Sniper Rifles and Demo-packs, and the Sergeants of each squad carry Teleport Homers.

As all of this is going on, the Chapter deploys Thunderhawks to a few various munitions depots, and searches for potential recruits in the lower, crime-infested regions of the Hive.

** As they begin their march down, they are met with heavy resistance. From seemingly out of nowhere, gaunts and genestealers attack them, then vanish back into the shadows. They could number in the hundreds, perhaps even in the thousands, as the attacks are widespread and overwhelming.

The nurglings die easily, but the plaguebearers and marines shrug off the hit and run attacks. They toss blight grenades into hiding places, sewers, and vents. Crippling viruses and bacteria strong enough to corrode through armor explode from these grenades.

As the Scouts descend further into the Hive, it becomes more and more difficult to avoid the movements of the Tyranids. They relay intelligence back to HQ, and a map begins to form, outlining the composition of the enemy force... and their source. One scout squad makes a startling discovery.

"HQ, this is Sergeant Lucius. We have stumbled upon one of the Mycetic Spores launched by the Tyranid bio-ships. Judging by the impact crater, I would estimate it contained a Carnifex of some kind."
"Acknowledged. You are to track the beast's movements, but do not engage. The other Scout Squad will attempt to destroy the nests of these monstrosities."
"There are also large amounts of Chaos followers here. Death Guard, I think."
"Affirmative. Stay out of their sight."

** As the small war rages in the cramped streets of the lower hive, a strange noise is heard behind a corrugated metal wall. A large figure suddenly smashes through - a Carnifex. Its charge tears through anything in its path, and behind it, gaunts and genestealers pour out, along with a few Lictors, that quickly dart into the shadows. Along the Carnfiex's body are spine banks, and two of its lower claws make up a Barbed Strangler. As it fires the weapon, the seeds burst into steel-hard tendrils which shred and ensnare infantry and vehicles alike. Anyone unfortunate enough to be standing close to the Carnifex gets impaled by its massive scything talons and crushed in its jaws

** While the Carnifex shreds through the lines of people one of a few Raveners lifts its head to a building, it senses something. The brood lord which is standing by to keep control of the Carnifex knows this and instructs them to go in while some gaunts creep in through some broken parts of the building. In total there are 6 Raveners, 3 of which go to the floor which they picked up the vox signals and homing beacons, with them are some gaunts armed with a few ranged bio morphs but mainly they have melee bio morphs.

The Plague Marines are caught off guard, and pull back to get a good ranged advantage on the Carnifex. Heretics are killed quickly, as they scramble to get to a safer area. Plaguebearers, Nurglings, and beasts of Nurgle take on the hive in melee combat. The cyclopes Plaguebearers take much damage before going down, their chanting falling short.

Many plague marines die, their diseased gasses venting from their body as they die, healing their allies. They become locked in melee combat with many of the Tyranids, though their forms take much damage, their melee attacks are slow. Daemons of Nurgle struggle to keep the masses of tyranids from getting to the ranged Plague marines. Most of the ranged fire is focused on the Carnifex wreaking havoc on the Plague Marines, the heretics firing their lasguns and grenade launchers into it aswell.

"Set the missile launcher here..", rasps a plague marine, as he moves an anti-vehicle squad into the rubble down the street. The plague marine crouches behind the rubble, zeroing in on the Carnifex. He states,"Infecting the beast of the Hive." As he fires a missile at the Carnifex.

Scout Sergeant Lucius keeps an eye on the battle between the Death Guard and the Carnifex. Suddenly, he looks away from his scope, listening into his Vox. Turning to his fellow scouts, he says, "Follow my orders if you want to survive this day."

The other scout squad continues its mission to find and destroy the hive, its members oblivious to the incredible danger they are in.

** The 3 Raveners on the floor with the gaunts slowly slither to the room where they are hiding, the gaunts follow suit. One of them Raveners busts threw the door into the room while the two others go threw the wall, the 3 others that were not with the others climb threw the windows trying to corner the scouts and take them off guard.

** Back in the middle of the fight the Carnifex gets hit with the rocket, it manages to blow off the arms that were made into the barbed strangler, it looks to where the missile came from. It opens it gaping maw to them before a ear piercingly loud screech is heard as it fires its bio plasma at them. Above a small swarm of maybe a hundred or more Gargoyles begin to fly over, they each fire a volley of borer beetles down at the marines and Plaguebearers. At the back of the fight near the brood lord, along with the gaunts and genestealers coming out a few dozen Tyranid warriors come armed with spike rifles, devourers, barbed stranglers and death spitters. They also have scything talons if anything were to get close to them. They quickly begin moving up and firing there weapons. One of the lictors quickly moves to one of the bodies of a fallen marine, it sinks its claws in and begins to drag it off while the other lictors begin to try to get up behind the marines and ambush them, they use there chamelon abilities to there advantage in the situation.

The bioplasma hits the squad, foul growls and groans emitting from them as most of them die. A single plague marine stands, ripping the missile launcher from the dead marine. He begins to set up the missile launcher to fire a second time.

Back down the street, an aspiring champion of the heretics raises his chainsword to the sky, yelling,"For the Lord of All!" Many heretics are flung upwards into the air, exploding in clouds of plague and death, shrouding the marines who are locked in melee combat. The Plague marines benefit from this, as they intake the death clouds and continue fighting. Many have died, but they fear not, they wish for death.

A screeching sound from above his heard, as the second in command of the Death Guard company crashes down from the sky. Underneath him is a gargoyle impaled by his power sword. He lands with great force, knocking many tyranids aside as he lands. Engaging his jetpack, he hovers a foot or so off the ground, engaging in close combat with the tyranids as a last ditch effort to draw them away from the ranged plague marines. His acursed sword ressurects any that he has killed for a short moment to fight as slaves of Nurgle. The gargoyle gets up, and flaps it's wings, roaring as it fires on it's own tyranid kind. It has a green glow in it's eyes, and it rapidly decays. Shortly after though, it explodes as Nurgle's essence wears off on it.

He rallies what is left of his troops with a warcry,"Kiss them with the sweet embrace of Death.."

** The Carnifex is bleeding badly, with a sort of last ditch effort before the brood lord breaks his will over the hulking beast. It charges twards the main line of marines before it fires its frag spines, shrapnel would fly everywhere cutting and slashing anything it touches. After it does that the brood lord breaks his will from it causing it to go into a very violent rampage. It would begin slashing and killing anything in its path even its own kind. In the sky's more gargoyles circle around this time aiming only for the champion's second in command. The Tyranid warriors also focus there fire on it, hails of spikes, strangler seeds, borer beetles and very acidic maggots begin to fly at it. A dozen more warriors enter the battle as the Tyranid force seems to even with high loses compensate with sheer amount of gaunts and genestealers. The brood lord falls back into a building so as not to be hit in some cross fire, dozens of gaunts follow. The lictors with the ability to blend in its surroundings pay off, it manages to slip behind the marine with the rocket launcher, in one swoop it trys to lop the marines arm off with a talon as it uses its other to try to use the point to impale him in his bloated stomach. The lictor that had taken the corpse of the marine begins to suck its brains out to only be killed by the diseases which lay inside, rippers crawl up and begin to devours the two, only to die aswell...the next generation of Tyranids would become stronger to the diseases that might lay inside the marines, but not all.
